John:  The word from my neighborhood town Cop (saw him at the school bus stop this morning when we were walking the dog), is that the NH temporary plates are only illegal in Massachusetts if you have no proof of insurance.  Apparently, you can obtain a 20 day (?) temporary plate in NH with no insurance to get your vehicle home.  Usually, he doesn't bother with doing a stop check on a temp plate car, but half of the time when he does, he finds they had no insurance and have to impound the car til they come back with insurance proof.

So, if you have an insurance card I guess it's OK to head down to Woodman's Clam Shack inn Ipswich for lunch - as soon as the rain stops!

Glad you had a good time on your adventure.  Any Pictures?

Hello Gordon, NH Motor Vehicles gives you a slip when you get the temporary plate that specifically states, "not valid in Massachusetts".  I couldn't chance getting stopped by a non friendly police officer, especially since I have a heavy foot.  The drive thru VT was more fun anyway, lots of turns!

Marty posted a link with photos of the car.  I was too busy driving to take photos on the trip North.  On the train I was busy having wine!  John
