IM Roadster Top Fold?

Is my top folded down correctly? I did not want to smush it down to far. I did not even attempt to put the boot cover on yet. Thanks

That does seems high for a Roadster. Sorry, but I can't recall how I used to fold mine.

Contact Henry. I'm sure it won't be the only time. Looks a bit high to me, too. I suspect Henry will say you just need to smush it down, but it pays to be safe.

That does not look correct. The entire hinge mechanism should rotate down into the back on each side.

Marty, I've had the same problem with mine. It's all in how you start your fold. Don't start folding from the front (nearest the windshield header). Start folding from the second folding mechanism. The front section is actually the last part you fold (at least it is on mine).
Here's a photo of mine.

If you have a zip out rear window...un zip it first and then lower the top. Makes a big difference. Tom

I did unzip the window but I folded down the front part first. I'll try Ron's method. Starting to get a bald spot so I need to get it lower so the people behind me can see some hair:-(

Someone needs to make an automatic electric top. It would take all the guesswork out of it.

The love left with most of my hair.

My roll bar and Schroth four point seat belts (which mount to a steel support behind the rear bulkhead) make lowering my top a real PITA.
I also have to strap my top down, because at speeds over 75 mph the top starts to rise up on its own. First time it happened it scared the heck out of me.

It's way too high. The second picture (the big one is also too high. On my 2004 IM the edge of the front bow fits just below the top of the rear deck. It can be tricky. If you're doing it correctly it will go right in. If you're fighting it, you're not doing it right. If you're interested I can take some sequential pics tomorrow and post them.

I even have less follicles than Rich or Lane, and, therefore, even less sympathy :-)

Hey Marty, Ron's pointing you in the right direction the bows need to be gathered before lowering it back. Also you need to place a cloth between the header (peice that mates to the windsheild) and where it rests on the top when down else you will get a wear spot from rubbing.

Corect the cloth just goes in the center.

Short drive with Top up today. View from all sides is amazing. The rear plastic is huge and lets a ton of light in the cabin. A real pleasure to drive. In the words of Jim Carey from Dumb nd Dumber "I like it a lot"
