IM Speedster wanted

Hello, my name is Peo writing from southern Switzerland (close to the italian border). I'm looking for an Intermeccanica Speedster (older type with VW chassis). My budget is set at max 14000 USD. Can anyone of you (that surely knows the market better than I do) advise me if it is feasible to find a car in a fairly good shape with this kind of budget?

P.S. With "fairly good shape" I intend a car that I could drive to the closest collecting point for international sea transportation.

Dear Mr. Boudestein,

I've been following the car on e-bay from the first day and wrote to the guy with a serious offer but he never got back to me. I think that some people might be surprised that somebody would come all the way from Europe to get a car and because of this reason are a bit diffident. To me it would mean exactly the opposite. you are right! I was just triyng to show off with Mart by writing in dutch because it is not my mother tongue at all! Here where I live, the spoken language is italian but as I got married with a dutch woman, I slowly learn a bit her language and try, with her help, to write it as well. This was a good excuse to get her interested to the Speedster fever that I got several years ago!

From now on I will only write in english so that everybody will understand what we are discussing. It was not ment as a way to exclude others from this forum and therefore I excuse myself for doing it.

Certainly did not think you were passing along secrets. Just wanted to add a little humor. I worked for a Dutch company for a while and never could make any sense out of their language. I fact several years ago while in Greece I met a couple of lovely ladies from Holland and both spoke flawless english. I asked how they became so proficient and they said they were required to take english in school as Dutch is far to difficult for the rest of us to learn.

thank you for your compliments. At the present time I'm simply suffering as I will have to wait a while before getting the car to Camorino where I live.

It has been a nice experience, especially because I met good and honest people (which, without willing to be too negative, is becoming more and more a rare experience).

I hope than one day it will be possible for us to meet with our cars.

Peo, that day will come! Let me know when you plan to come up to the north! I plan to visit the Mille Miglia next year (2006). And... my way to Brescia leads over the Swiss Alps first....
