Troy. in response to your question: "Personally, I would prefer to view a large picture rather than a small picture, but if its creating problems for everyone that would not be good."; I too, like your large photos, but I would prefer to just click on the thumbnails as we have done for years rather than have to constantly scroll horizontally to read EACH post as I had to do on your thread. If the large photos are the cause of that major inconvenience (as I believe is the case), please revert to the standard thumbnail postings. You are correct, it is not good. I am not using an ipad, iphone, droid, etc, etc; merely a standard old-time laptop still using XP.
Blue Velvet!
I like Cobalt Cruiser too, but the problem is it's not really Cobalt. To me, Cobalt is much lighter and sort of electric or neonish, if you know what I mean. This car is such a dark blue that it is almost black. Will's car is Midnight Blue and I think this car is even darker than his car.
Blue Velvet is good too, but it doesn't really rhyme with anything the way Black Betty and Pewter Imposter did.
I've been working on the Blue ???? all weekend and I'm too tired to think about it anymore tonight.

Coffee is awesome.
FWIW, the iPhone doesn't love the pictures all that much, since it auto-resizes the entire page and makes the letters in the text hard to read, but to me the clarity of the image is worth it for shots like the one above.
It's not like you post them every day.

Troy, next to your blue car, it looks black in the photos....and that makes it a really bitchin' dark blue. Now I know this might not be PC.......... but how 'bout "The Blue Bitch"
Scott, John, if you have trouble viewing the page, you are either running a really outdated browser or running a very low screen resolution. Any newer browser has zoom features that either automatically corrects this or can be manually set (CTRL plus +/-). You should upgrade anyway just for better security. If you are running a low resolution to make things easier to read, you should instead increase your screen resolution and then go into Accessibility Options -> Display -> High Contrast and use Windows Standard (Large)/(ExtraLarge) to increase font size. Unfortunately, this basic old forum software doesn't support features to help mitigate this h-scroll problem for users like you.
John, if Troy uses the site's storage to get the thumbnail views that you want, you just create the problem that Theron warns about, slowing down page loads and the site in general from the higher bandwidth usage at his server. Plus I think it resamples uploaded files so you wouldn't get these wonderful high quality pictures.

Justin-am running 1024x768, Windows Standard Black (large). Problem exists IE and Google Chrome. Have tried ctrl +/-. It works but obviously at the expense of viewable text size. Have not had this problem until these over-sized pictures have been posted. Do not have this problem on other web-sites. Am open to further suggestion. Thanks for your interest. Don't fully understand your explanation/connection of the clickable thumbnail and Theron's previous warnings. Might suggest you advise Theron re: this issue. Again, thanks.

In IE, you can also go to View -> Text Size and increase that after you change the zoom level with CTRL +/-.
The pictures are actually downsized to fit the total width of your screen. The issue is that this picture autofitting the width doesn't take into account the width of the left column with the names in it, the width of the vertical scroll bar, or any sidebars you have open in your browser. So the content takes 100% of the width, the name column takes say 15%, so the page is 115% of the width of your screen and you get h-scroll.
It's very tricky to fix the HTML/CSS code to get multiple columns to autofit to the width of the browser without causing this problem. And in a lot of cases it can't be fixed without redesigning the whole layout and you just have to live with it.

Justin-Not being a "geek" (and a geek is a good thing!) I was able to sum up what you posted; it took some digging but I understand the problem as such as you describe. Just love to be able to get that "15%" back, if you know what I'm sayin'. Any suggestions on the image size maximum to alleviate this? Thanks for the input.

If people add width=800 to their img tags in their posts for pictures wider than 800 pixels, then it won't break h-scroll on 1024x768 screens. This only affects the display of the image on the page, it is still the same dimensions and size when downloaded or viewed separately.
For example, this picture was 1024 pixels wide:

Let's give it a try.
Let's give it a try. I couldn't get the 800 width to work, but I changed the alignment to the right instead of center. Does this help?
