Ok, here's a question that requires a trip in the wayback machine...

I was an avid subscriber to WV & Porsche magazine (became European Car mag) in the 90's. One of the features in the early 90's was on an Intermeccanica Carrera, if I remember correctly.

The gist of the story was that the car was the real thing - despite the fact it was a replica... and that it had lots of modern conveniences that made it a great all-around fun car. Roll-up windows, etc.

Here's the point - the car had something that looked like more modern Porsche alloys - similar to the modern C2. It gave the car a really great look, and I personally love alloys.

Anyone remember that? Any idea where those might have come from?

Well, I've looked through the IM.org site and have scoured the web. Can't find anything like what I'm looking for.

The wheels I THINK I saw (it HAS been >10 yrs) were like this:

but they fit under a standard, non flare speedster body. so they must have been much skinnier and smaller than the real C2 wheels.

If anyone knows a good place to get semi-modern alloy Porsche-style (any style is worth consideration) wheels that will fit a 4-bolt lug pattern and tuck up nicely under a VS speedster body, I'd be appreciative.

Thanks,
G
Nope, not the 914 - definitely more modern...

I did go through the Intermeccanica.org site and find this:

www.intermeccanica.org/vehicles/roadster/gallery/Roadster%20rf.jpg

It's a turbo-look roadster. perhaps what I saw was something like this with C2 wheels. Definitely looks possible - the fender wells have a subtle flare to accept wider wheels.

I am going to put this thought on hold for a while and do some digging later. If anyone runs across anything like what I'm looking for, please let me know!

Thanks for the input.
