I don't mean to promote one maker over another, but I thought some people might enjoy some shots of new IM Speedsters being sent to Japan. Henry emailed me these pics. The pics show one black and one silver speedster.

They are in my files, under Carley. There have been some posts recently asking about speedsters vs roadsters, and I thought these pics might show some details about the speedsters.

Besides, I'm going through withdrawal symptoms - my car is stored away, there is snow on the ground, and it's bloody cold outside!
I'll have to join the S/R.A.A.

So Bob, is there any truth to the rumour that you are the new east coast IM distributor?
The sun's out today and it's around 7 degrees (Celsius), and the 911 pickup is back on the road!!! Started it today, when it was around 4 degrees, and she fired right up!!! yippeee. Also, I'm picking up a set of Porsche 914 seats that I just purchased (money pit number 2). Going to replace the crappy, old bench seat in the single cab.

Bob: I think the tops may be IM low bows. Henry used Brett Johnson's book in setting up the tooling. The attached picture shows my "low bow" prior to delivery, compared to high bow and low bow tops shown in Dr. Thiriar's book. Regardless of what it is called, my top fits like a glove and since it is down 99% of the time, it is not an issue for me.
Ron:

That's good news about your pickup starting. How far did you have to push it to get it going? Just kidding. I'm glad it's working now.

As for the two IM's - yes, they are really being sent to me, not to Japan. I always like to have things in threes, and black and silver will go nicely with my current red one.

Really, they were just some nice pics of speedsters with the low bow top, and I thought I would share them with the group.

Bob (isn't the edit feature great?)

Ya Mean I've got a low bow and I always thought I was HIGH? I guess the low bow refers to the middle bow not the rear bow,(makes sense). I was comparing to tops other than IM, Like some VS that had an even lower rear bow so I just figured they had a low bow. Then there should be three types: High, Low, and an No bow,.... well maybe that doesn't work.

Here is a picture from Dr. Thiriar's book that shows the profiles of a high vs low bow. The low bow had a flat roofline, and the hi bow had a hump. I do have a smaller rear window, which the low bow had.
My roof line is generally flat, but sloped,so maybe its a "slo bow"?

Also, thumbing through Brett Johnson's book on page 35, there is a low bow with an apparent hump, so I going to give up and forget the whole thing!
Paul, I have no idea how the seats will fit in, and even if they will fit. There is not a lot of room between the steering wheel and the back of the cab. I may just bolt the seats in one place. That's no big deal, since there is very little movement of the seat anyways. I'll probably mount them as far back as possble. I'll post some pictures when I get into the project.
