I am currently in negotiations for this CMC Speedster and wanted to ge your opinion. The price is $16,000. Here is some information about it. Thanks!

This vehicle is a CMC speedster kit. I bought the vehicle and completely reworked the car over the past 12 months or so. Car was completely disassembled down to the tub, anything not working or needing replacement (like floor pans) was completed during reassembly. Short list of major items :

CRHemi (Bill) has his for sale too in Wash DC area - his is "arrest me red" wide body with sharp chrome Fuchs 911 wheels and disc front brakes and sway bars. Check out his plate - it says it all.

https://www.speedsterowners.com/files/thmblist.asp?sf=/crhemi

Bill's is stock engine - but then this one appears to be too. Engine is where you can sink some $.

Note - Coil over rear suspension on this car sounds like shocks with the coil vs true modified rear suspension.

The mirror isn't too far off. They used to put them there and on the fender, it wasn't specific. Though David maybe referring to the type of mirror which is probably a repro.
Original wheel and column? The top of the wheel in the photo is black. Original wheels we're usually white/cream, no? Hard to say without seeing the whole set up.
$16K isn't crazy but I'd have to agree with the "Fluff". Have it checked out and see what a qualified mechanic says. It's not always the parts the car has as much as WHO put them on.
Thanks for the input. The person is not a member of Speedsterowners.com. I am not a huge fam of the wide bodies, going for more of the original look. Does some of this fluff give a boost to the price or just not worth it? The forward flashers, all badging, side molding, half-moons etc are original. Here are three other pics.

Spencer, the orginal speedie half moons did not have porsche emblems in the center, but again most folks do not know that anyways.. that look is pretty cool I think, and I always wanted that on my black tub too... The steering wheel looks to be after market, but correct me if I am wrong here guys.. I beleive that wheel should be a beige banjo style wheel and not that particular 3-spoke. besides that stuff Spencer looks like a nice ride, but like my brutha from a diff mutha Mickey stated.. the biggest concern would be "who" put this together and how solid your mechcanic thinks it is... 16K ... only if you love it.. personally I love to hagle! (Is that right?) whatever... LOL.. besides that Spencer... Welcome to the Madness!
