I've noticed that the rear lights on the Speedster are not overly bright. Every car I've ever rebuilt I have refinished the tail light housing which are usually painted a shade of white and some even in black, like the re-pop '39 Ford tail light assemblies I have on the Vicky and on the '56 F-100 replacement assemblies.I strip the housings down, prep them and rattle can paint them a 'Brilliant Chrome',  from ACE Hardware...it is the best I've found and with 3-4 coats over a white rattle can primer gives a very chrome like finish to the insides of the housings.

Then I replace the standard 1157 bulbs with LEDs I get from Ledtronics...http://www.ledtronics.com/Products/ProductsDetails.aspx?WP=1168

I also redo the front housing for marker/turn signal/ park lights in the same fashion

I do have to replace the standard flasher with an electronic flasher or they will not operate correctly.

I just placed an order for some more of the LED light bulbs and will take some before and after pictures of the Speedster to show the results. Having done this on the Cobra, the Vicky and the '56 F-100, as well as on several other cars, there is a very noticeable brightness to the running lights and especially the brake lights.

I also ordered up a new 3rd brake light assembly to install...there are just to many inattentive drivers out there...

I'm about done relying on the expertise of other drivers. On my rebuild, it'll be LED's plus an old school STOP light on the rear bumper too...like the one's on Vincent motorcycles.
