None of the above......I would cluster them in a horizontal line in the center of your vision, between the Speedo and Tach and equi-distant between the temp and oil pressure gauges. That way, they would be the most visible when they illuminate and would get your greatest attention (as they should, after all).

Directionals on the left and right end, high beam and oil temp in the middle.

But that's only what I would do - you have to please yourself.

My pick is 5. I think it fits geometrically with the gauge layout. All the others make the lights look like an afterthought.

PS. It may be obvious but, be sure to mock-up the locations with the steering wheel on and sitting in the drivers seat one last time before drilling. :)

I think #6 it is (with a reduced intensity high beam - thanks Alan).

I will test fit the steering wheel to verify before I drill. Although I won't be plugging in any drills - it's Bosch 24V cordless all the way for me! (one of the few perks of working for Bosch is REALLY good deals on powertools)

All I have to decide upon now is where to put the switchgear. Is it headlights on the right and wipers on the left? Or vice versa? I intend to include a starter push button as well. I do like the two up and two down layout as seen on the dash of a friends speedster - what do you think? (Note the lack of floors in the car - it is in serious need of a restoration!)

Cheers,

Jim
