Im debating getting door pulls installed.. but the door panel looks so much cleaner without them. For those of you who do not have them, how are you closing your doors? Any damage to the door handle (assuming that’s what you’re pulling on to close the door)

I made a short black 1-inch wide by 2.5-inch long strap with a female snap end that snaps to the male snap just under the top panel that is normally used to snap to secure the window curtain. When I want to use the window curtain, I just unsnap the strap.
I never pulled on the handle - I heard of a few breaking off from that. I just pulled on the top of the door, but that seemed a little Hokey so I bought a pair of chromed door pulls from Vintage.
I guess I'm more hokey than Gordon. I just do the top of the door pull to close it, even with the window up.
Hand on the top of the door.
I figured the options are either using the door handle, or hand on top of the door.. does the latter result in fingerprints all over?
EMPI 15-2080 is a nice billet aluminum door pull. It has spring to keep it flat against door. It's $40 at some places and up to 70 at others (same product!)
I have old MGB door pulls with chrome ends and black plastic pull handle. Many of the non-OEM opener handles are cast pot metal and will bend or break off in your hands.

My 1st speedster had inside door handles and no-one used them so they were omitted on current car, hand on top of the door works fine.
I like the door pull look, but I've never hesitated, on over 100 Speedsters, to pull the door handle. I recall only one broken handle in hundreds of pulls. It doesn't require a herculean pull to get the momentum required for the door to close. Just be gentle.

I have door pulls but need to remind myself to use them. My instinct is to simply lay my hand on top of the door which works just fine. Ceramic coating and a clean detail rag behind my seat allows for quick hand smudge removal if I’m so inclined.
