If you are thinking about installing those little vertical bumper guards, be aware that they are not simple “bolt-on” items. They take some tweaking to get them in place and looking right.
First off, most are cast aluminum. They’re polished, but have a lot of pin holes and small gaps. Not exactly a well-finished look, and definitely not “factory” in appearance. I powder coated mine.
To mount, you have to drill through the bumper’s rubber trim and into the support bracket. If you are lucky you’ll go through the bracket’s slot. If you are really lucky you’ll go through in a place that is not right next to one of the existing mounting bolts. If you are not, which is most likely, you’ll have to cut away the infringing mounting bolt so you have room for the guard’s washer and nut. To do this you’ll have to remove the bumper from the bracket.
The guards in each set-of-two are slightly different so they can fit the right and left sides. Most have a mark inside, some don’t. When you first put the guards in place you’ll notice that they probably aren’t sitting flush against the bumper. The biggest issue is that the bumper’s rubber trim is rectangular in cross section, while the guard most likely has a round recess. A little (or a lot of) grinding and filing will be needed to get a good fit here and some other spots.
Good luck
