look up behind the instruments themselves and follow the wires back to the fuse box. This is the wire for lighting up the gauges. The fuse may be blown for the lights or the wire has come off and sometimes they put an inline fuse in for the item so don't skip the tracing of the wire back to the fuse box. It almost has to be a fuse or loose wire for all three to go at the same time. My IM is wired a little different, but I think you should be able to find the problem fairly quickly.

Firstly a silly answer; are you sure you've not accidently dimmed the instrument lights to nothing. My light switch turns to dim the panel lighting.

If that doesn't work....

The light switch used on my vehicle (a VW part) is supplied power on terminals X (power for side lights) and 30 (power for headlights). 56 is power to dip beam relay, 58 is power to side lights, and 58b is power to panel lights. 58L and 58R are unused.

Your panel bulbs should be connected in parallel to 58b and ground (assuming a similar setup).

If both your headlights and sidelights are working, i'd trace from the switch.
