Good to see this was an adjuster issue not necessarily a Hagerty issue.
Glad to hear there's some progress with getting Merlot back on the road. That windscreen/roll-bar will be a nice addition!
I'm glad that Hagerty is going to do right by you, Aaron. I am also very interested in seeing what magic Carey works with the roll bar.

Good to hear that Hagerty is doing right by you.
As regards your new windblocker, I had a recent experience with that. See pix. My blocker is held on by four large Zip ties. I removed the top two ties to add the Christmas ribbon. Forget to replace them. Dawn next morning I'm on the freeway for a 35 mile trip to local car show. The wind blocker is pushing forward on back of my head so hard I can hardly hold my head upright! Maybe 20 pounds of force pushing on my head. Real struggle! Bought new Zip ties for the trip home.
My point - a wind blocker makes a HUGE difference! Enjoy.

Well, I hope Vince enjoyed the last video I sent! By the way, Vince...if the good Lord had invented anything better, He kept it to himself! Most of usins forget it's COLD in these her' hills!
Here's the proposed method of the fix. The roll bars with the blocker set-up will be from a parted-out Boxster and will be modified to fit. Merlot is in GOOD hands.

Aaron, you are the man when it comes to emails/video's....
but a windscreen on a speedster is like a country that has a Queen,
(I refer to one of Leslie Nielson's movies)

I drove my friend's Boxter this summer and it WAS nice. However, too much deviation from the original for me. However, this summer, I'm asking Carey to install a hydraulic clutch, oil cooler, and temp gauge in Natalie. The clutch, because the original cable design sucks and the others because I'm hoping to move down south soon and want to be ready :)
Vince,
My wife refuses to travel any long distances in Merlot (from lake Lure to Asheville is ~25 miles). Personally, I wouldn't add the rear screen, but like I was saying!!!! Did you enjoy the youthful enthusiasm?
Tom,
Were do you intend to settle here below the Mason-Dixon line? By the way, you don't need another temp gauge with our setup! Didn't Carey put on an oil cooler for the White engine design?

Aaron. Not decided yet. Long story. No external oil cooler installed initially. I know that I could use the existing gauge but would like to see actual degrees.

Glad to hear it worked out for you, Aaron. Hagerty has been a good company so far for me.
The first adjustment was on 1 November and the second was an extreme 6 weeks later. Just not use to such poor service. Carey waited about 2 weeks to get the 2nd approval ( lady adjuster and photo approval). I now have both checks.
We'll work it out...but I would like to visit Carlisle in May. I will not push for a quick repair. I prefer to wait and get a Great car back in my hands,

Aaron, just bring the Lafer if Merlot isn't ready.

Wild Bill,
Good Idea!
I will if I can get the engine "stuff" installed...air shrouds, tins and the dual SCAT carbs, etc. I don't have any idea what is inside the engine. I know there is something by the way Azul goes up the parkway. A Corvette driver who was following behind me stopped beside me at Craggy Gardens and said: "I know by the way it was taking the curves and hills it wasn't a MG TD, what is it." Note that it is not considered a TD replica or kit car...just ask Percival Lafer, the designer and manufacturer. If you do, stand back out of arms reach!

X2 on what Bill said. We are adding a TD-like contingent that's getting larger and larger.
