Didn't I read in the current KCB issue that Dale Bates' IM with the Audi engine weighed in at about 2250#? Perhaps Marty's car will be similar? My Red Man was weighed at Carlisle a couple of years ago with Danny's scales and it came out to 2335#.
First pics of my Instruments, these are what Henry is using for the Water Cooled builds.

Hey Hoss, it turns out that the engine builder forgot to send the AC compressor. They made good on it and it's on the way to IM.
Excellent! Will it be a standard mounting or does Henry have to fabricate something? Mine is non-standard so that the engine cover could have a lower profile. This is a mid-engine thing.
Pretty sure it's standard mounting.
The clock is a nice touch! very nice car
My wife say's that all the time ....
Thanks James, a lot of us seen your car at Carlisle 2010. Very nice build with that "original look". Put more pics in your folder so everyone can see.
Marty
I was at Henry's shop Thursday and Friday, and your car is coming along very nicely. It's a beautiful colour combination, and looks like it's going to be great boulevard cruiser.
Cheers

Actually, I took a wrong turn at Toronto, and ended up in Vancouver by mistake. Strangest thing.
Henry was nice enough to give me a cup of coffee, and we spent two days talking about the weather. I did happen to notice a few cars while I was there.

I'm think'n Pinocchio was there too :~)
Yea, Pinocchio was there all right and he's got a big woodie....nose that is. What ever were you thinking?
Well, I'm in the process of buying a used Speedster that is going under a little refurbishing, to give me the car I wanted ever since I saw and drove George Brown's car at Carlisle.
The Rooster was a great Roadster (as all of Henry's cars are), but I'm going with a Speedster with a lot of nice components.
It's taken a long time for me to make this decision, but I feel content that I've made the right choice. And of course, Henry has been great about everything.

Excellent. Obviously, you'll not regret it. Henry is the man.
Welcome back to the madness Bob, hope to see you at Carlisle.
Thanks, guys.
Alan, if the car is ready for Carlisle, I'll be there for sure, and I'll have an egg sammich.

Robert,
If it's the Speedster I am thinking of,then many of the cues were taken from Jim Wards Speedster and George Browns Speedster in the construction process. It is as much a legend as Jim's, "Ruby". Best of luck.

Who's that young guy in that photo? I think I used to know him.
As for the speedster, more details to come. It's one I had the chance to buy from Henry a number of years ago, but did not, and now it's available again. It will be undergoing a transformation over the winter to make it more like what I want - mainly cosmetic.
Thanks for the welcome back, gentlemen.
:-)
Marty - I certainly did not mean to hijack your thread here.
Allan - are you thinking of Brook Walton's car? Not the one.

Nahhh, we're just killing time till Marty posts some more pics.
Yeah, this way Marty's thread stays on top ;->
Hijack - Welcome back Bob!!! - end of hijack
Scott Sloan's?
Stan, Great minds think alike. That was my guess too. Scott's speedster needs nothing. It is pristine!
No, not Scott's beautiful car.
This is a speedster that Henry has owned for the past year or two. It was at Carlisle one year, owned by a fellow from Ottawa, who sold it back to Henry.
As I said, it was offered to me previously, but the situation was not right at the time. Things have changed, so I can move on it now.
It's dark blue with a wine (burgundy) colour interior, 2332 engine, and Porsche 901 transmission.
I posted three small photos of the car as it is now, but it will look different when finished.

Very nice looking car, Bob.
The car fitting that description can only be Miko(Nicholas) Czerny-Hollownia's IM. Robert, My wife and I were fortunate enough to drive that car while we were in Osoyoos in September for the Intermeccanica Wine Country Tour. Loved the 5 speed. A very nice car!

Welcome back, Bob!
Marty, that car gets better looking with every image I see!

Yes, that is the car - owned by Nicholas previously (sorry, I could not recall his name).
It does drive very nicely!
But it will look a little different next time anyone sees it.

Hi Robert
I dropped my car off at Henry's today and he told me about your purchase. Very nice!

I tried emailing you before I went out there, but I guess I used your old email address.
Anyway, I asked Henry about you, and he said all was fine.
Perhaps when I head out next Spring/Summer to get the car, we can get together.

I hate to have to point it out again, but look at what the site did to those pictures Hoss posted. Little tiny squares all over them.
Yeah, it's worth it to post up pictures from an image-hosting site, just to keep the resolution intact.
I think back in 2007 or 2008, Chris and I were barreling along I-81 (it might have been the year that Wild Bill was trying to catch up to us from Harrisburg) when we overtook Nicholas and his wife in that blue IM. As we started to pass, Chris put down his passenger window so we could hear the sweet sound of that exhaust on his 2232. We slowed a bit, waved to Nicholas and just sat to his left for a mile or so, listening to the muted purr of that car. chris' only comment was "wow..." followed by a pleasant smile.
Good for you, Bob! That's a wonderful little car!

It's nice to hear so many good reports about that car from people who have driven, seen it, or heard it.
I had two days in Vancouver last week, and fortunately the first day was sunny, so that was spent in top down driving, in both city and more rural driving. The car is a great highway cruiser, once you get used to the shift pattern of the 901 gearbox, with first down low to the left, and then 2,3,4 and 5 forming an 'H' pattern. The four wheel disc brakes, and rack and pinion steering really add to the driving experience.
I guess this is a good 65th birthday present to me (and Mary, of course...). We look forward to some nice trips once retirement comes our way.

Marty, you can get one more afternoon in, it's gorgeous right now! Go for it!
