Top down season over. Bummer:-(
Work got in the way and you know how fast Winter can show it's ugly head around here. We live vicariously through the South and West for 4-5 months.
~80 and kinda muggy here today. I'm stuck at work and my car is at home with one side up on jackstands. It's not fair, I tell ya!
Kinda muggy? KINDA muggy? I worked outside in the garden for a couple of hours and came in drenched in sweat. Had to take Pearl out for a ride to Ridgeland and back just to cool off! Found a cool roadside restaurant to take kathy back to tonight.
Ah.....Life in the South! Grits for Berakfast, hushpuppies with dinner!

Marty, look at what you missed today. Can't beat mid 50's and clear skies in Wisconsin on November 15th. If I can figure out how to strap the tripod down properly, maybe I could actually drive. 30 days from now there could be a foot of snow on these roads. And yes, we'll just keep the entertainment going here until Marty posts more pictures...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3g6fcUTCW0
Rich, is something wrong with your right foot? I know that Type-4 has more juice in it.
Well, Marty, I was balancing the camera and tripod in one hand while navigating around the tree trimming crew (and curves)...just trying to be prudent. The car does move when coaxed.
One of these days I need to get one of those fancy camera mounts like Troy has and then I'll have another video posted of me careening out of control...stay tuned.

Rich---your engine sounds sweeet! Thanks for the ride!
Robert,
How is it that the Speedster that you have said that you are buying from Henry just showed up on his website today, and is being listed as "for sale"? Are you pulling our chains,or did you actually make the plunge? Fess up!

As Sergeant Schultz used to say 'I know nothing, nothing'.
I guess I must have been dreaming the last few days.
Seriously, the car is still for sale, and Henry is advertising it as such.

I'm going in to Henry's this Saturday....I'll sort this out. :)
Last few pics show Silver Coated Intake Manifolds, replica Fuchs, & some spaghetti in the engine bay.

Marty,
Who manufactured your Fuch replicas?
Who manufactured your Fuch replicas?
Tom, there are a few people selling them. The spoke design IMHO looks better than the orginal at the top where it curves. I sent Henry the picture and he sourced them. Price good too.

Looks great. Fuchs are a nice touch.
Wheels make a or break the look of a car, these Fuchs have a more modern look to them and compliments this IM build ....
You nailed it Marty !

Yeah, nice wheels! Didn't even catch that. I like the subtle change. Good call!

Do those centers spin when coming to a stop...man, that would be awesome:-)
Very nice Marty. Build is coming along smartly!
Marty. Sent you an email. That Jbugs wheel link is the Empi wheel.
Those are some awesome wheels Marty! Nice choice, looks fantastic.
Does anyone know about the quality of the fuch replicas made by Midland that cip1 is selling?
i hope they are better than the "16" gallon tank they sell that only holds 13 and they really dont care about changing their description.

Looking good Marty! Can't wait to see it in person.
Update: Henry sent me a few more teasers. Note that these are "in Progress" photos. It looks like it was designed to drop right in there.

Henry does a professional, clean install.
The header is fished. Henry had one of the Canadian elves do a nice job on this project. They managed to get very close on tube length for each cylinder and have the pipes in the correct (firing) order at the collector flange for best efficiency and sound! The Kennedy Header was nicley made but needs tweeking due to normally being used for Vanagan(too wide).
Next is building the muffler section & installing a Magnaflow Turbo (baffle) style muffler as opposed to a straight through for a bit more noise control. Custom car building, exciting stuff!

Marty---everything about the car is just spectacular. I know you are looking forward to spring.
Niiiiiice.
When can I come down to crack the bottle of champagne over the bow?
Beautiful!
Beautiful!
Marty, did you opt for the emergency brake to be placed on the transmission hump and not the umbrella handle under the dash? I always thought Henry used the U-handle brake installation.
Attachments
Nolan I don't think thats complete yet. IM puts it on the left side of the tunell just forward of the shifter. I did not go with a Umbrella Hand Brake. What's a U-handle? I have a request into Henry to clarify. I first wanted it in between the seats but Henry said its a tight fit; maybe he made it happen.
U is for umbrella!

Marty it looks like the brake in your beauty is going to be between the seats, look again at the last pictures that you posted
Nolan my son said you were a very handsome baby, What happened? :-)
We are working on these Fuchs. We are staying with the modern style like you see in the below picture, but they will look different in a few weeks.
