Site title says 1985 but build plate says 07/05 so 2005? The 2 wheels pointing off in different directions are concerning on a tube-based frame. A flood seems to be least of damages - guess it bounced off things going down stream!
hope it wasnt salt water
The link isn’t working for me. Anyone else have a problem?
If was built on a VW pan shouldn’t it have floated?
I got it. Looks like it did some hard time. It needs a lot of help but @Alan Merklin might be interested. The front beam might be bent but The metal frame if not bent could be fixed and treated inside with Eastwood rust convertor then treated to prevent rust I would think.
In any case it is quite the project.
Insurance photos are from May 2018 so it has been open to lots of rain too.
To start with, that's a roll over and will need an entire chassis....not for me, not even for parts.
@Alan Merklin i'd make him a right fine offer on the luggage rack....other than that?....not much i'd want either.....looks pretty totaled
Primary cause of damage: collision. Secondary cause of damage: flooding.
The car was in a wreck and sat open.
Body's shot, front and back. Suspension is ruined, so the frame is probably toast (as mentioned). Towel bar bumpers are finished. Interior is worthless. So what's left?
Gauges, switches, maybe the top frame could be straightened.
Maybe the engine. Maybe the trans. Maybe the doors (with those coveted roll-up windows). Current bid at $1200 leaves little meat on those bones.
You hate to see it.
