That beauty belonged to our very own @Banzai Pipeline who had to sell it due to skin cancer issues. Not sure who bought it because I don't think they ever came on the SOC. The ad verbiage is word for word from Banzai's ad but the photos appear to be more recent. Not sure if Banzai kept in touch with the new owner. Either way it's a heck of a Speedster.
Yes Robert, I remember when he originally posted it. Beautiful car and incredibly fast... 👍
When @Banzai Pipeline first posted his car for sale, my wife knew that was my 'dream car'. An IM Speedster with 2.7 911S and all the other goodies. She says to me "...you should buy that car"!
Wait ...WHAT??!!!
I told her, I was already crazy in love with her, but her statement just put me over the top! I told her 'Thanks, babe' but I really like my car and besides, if I had Banzai's car I'd be thrown in jail, not just for my thug looks but for keeping my foot on that gas pedal.
Again, I'll be extremely jealous of the next owner of that bad-boy Speedster!
Exactly my thoughts, Jim.
that 2.7 is a sweeeet engine..
That is a great car, one of Henry's best. I saw it in person years back when I was at one of Henry's Treffens, and it was in pristine condition, with very little mileage.
I know a few guys on here who would love to have that car.
Wasn't it @550 Phil who just missed out on buying it last time around?
Phil had an appointment to see the car as I recall and Banzai kinda dirty-scooped it....
It was my fault. I mentioned what I was up to on this site and Banzai saw my post. The owner and I had agreed on price and I had arranged for a mechanical inspection. Car was in Seattle I believe at the time. Banzai bought it site unseen without an inspection. I was stupid to post what I was doing. I would love to have that car. It pretty much checked all of the boxes for me. That car new would cost $120k now.

Fate has offered that car up for sale once again. And fate has lead to it being posted here again. You shouldn’t ignore fate nor should you tempt it. Better get an offer in on that car Jim.

I had no idea that you had designs on that car and got shafted by a fellow member here. Dirty pool!
Sorry that you passed on that IM-6, @MusbJim 😢
But honestly, you couldn’t look any more Bad-Ass cruising down the PCH than you already do in your beautiful VS.
Un Hombre Muy Guapo!
🤙

Phil was fantastic about it, but you're right - it was very dirty pool, and it all played out here. Mr. Pipeline was tone-deaf enough to brag about it right here in front of God and everybody.
He then proceeded to try to take off the real-deal deep-6 Fuchs (with hearts) so he could run moon hubcaps, but was thwarted when he couldn't find chrome steel wheels with a late Poreche drilling.
The car was not only nearly perfect, it was an outright steal (something south of $50K, if memory serves). I was thinking about it, but Phil had actually called the guy and set up a PPI, so I stayed on the sidelines.
Somebody here needs this car.

Well, he had to sell it due to skin cancer, supposedly.
Yes I remember the situation and we all felt bad for Phil, because he was excited and let the cat out of the bag and someone who was lurking, as many do, and is to be expected jumped on it sight unseen and scooped it up.
Hey Phil you could still get it now, but not at the same price of course. On the other hand it is still over 10 years old and will have some patina
BTW still too young for me to import it in
Phil, buy it, ship it to CA. I'll fly out with you and we can drive it back!
Guy wanted $65k and we agreed on $62k. Indeed a steal. Danny that sounds great but 2 owners later and over $10k more and 2000 miles further away. Going to have to pass and just wait for the Beck Conv D.
C'mon, don't take adventure away!
On the other hand maybe he will FOB it by covered wagon to Virginia, fully insured
If you two need an airborne spotter for the trip back from the coast, I'm your man!
