I have attached some pictures of Intermeccanica's hard top on a car. Hopefully you can see in the pictures that it attaches to the windshield header just like the soft top. It is finished on the inside with a nice headliner. The overall exterior fit and finish is excellent. The result is a MUCH quieter interior, and of course, it's dry inside. Considering the headliner, glass rear window, quality of finish and paint, it's priced quite reasonably.
Ron, could you buy one for your car and mine too? Come on, big guy, it's for your older brother!
Seriously, I've been contemplating making my IM into a yearly, daily driver, and the hard top is an excellent way to go.
Hows that new motor coming? When you get it broken in we should make a run up to Manning Park.
Ron
Ron, Darrin says the engine should be ready in about two weeks. If only I knew a few guys who could help me put it in....

Steve, He didn't mention it, but it might be possible just by trimming the bottom of the back of the top. That is if he doesn't have a set of molds for a speedster top. I'll try to rememeber to ask.

David, I think the windshield on the IM is in a different spot than on a VS, in addition, I think the IM windshield is a different shape all because of the side windows on an IM. I don't know how different though. Maybe it could be made to work... you don't have to get it to line up with the side windows. Cost is just over $2500 I think.

If you are really interested, contact Henry directly.

The only hard top you guys are going to get from me is a hard hat...perhaps I am already too late as it seems brain function may already be reduced as a result of too many bangs on the head?

Thanks for the offer Ron... you recognize a fishing expedition when you see one! Probably won't be during spring break as my kids will be out and the pressure will be to do 'family activities' and try as I might, working on the car doesn't make the list. The other response I thought I might get was from Bruce...but I guess it takes a more direct hint to get a response from him....

Thanks to you too Bob, but I think it would be cheaper to get Henry to install the engine than to fly you out to help!
Thank you Ron L. for the pictures. That's my car. Henry sent me a couple of pictures, but these are much better. I'm glad it's coming really nice.
According to Henry last hard top was done two years ago, so it's not a popular option. The frame of soft top is attached to the body by two hooks and four bolts, so that it can be removed while hard top is on. Hard top needs to be adjusted (sanded?) to fit the body properly, so it may be difficult to add hard top after car is built.
I think I have a few more of your car if you are interested I could email them to you. If you have cable or dsl I can send the large pictures. Otherwise I will shrink them like I did for the site.

Bob, I'm supposed to be in Haliburton in about April. That's about mid way between TO and Ottawa. I'll give you a call before I come and maybe we can save the UPS trip... Of course my other brother Ron won't be there...but maybe that's a good thing...
