While browsing Henry's photos, I came across this neat hardtop. It's for the D Roadster, and really looks snug.

Very nice.
You bespoken, Lane.
One of the cars is mine. It is snug and water tight. Made with fiberglass and Plexiglas. Very light. Fully padded and lined. It is very sound proof. If anything it gets a bit boomy in car from engine, tranny and fuel pump noise. But I just crank the stereo a little higher. $2900 option. I bought used. The soft top is padded and water tight so I really think the hard top is unnecessary. If I was buying new I would skip the hard top. But I have it so I use it in the winter.
Yes and if you click on "view all albums" you see Bob's Custom Speedster - 6 3.2. The car in its infancy. Must be getting very exciting.
Probably in more northern climes, the hardtop would be an excellent option. It would hold up to rain, ice, and snow a lot better, and would keep the convertible top in good condition.
I could also see it being very useful for wet or damp climates.
Plus, it just really looks sharp on the D Roadster.

Yes, Henry has just started the build. Not that I think about it much...
Riiiiiight.
I had a hardtop on my Miata and liked it a lot. Mind you, I drove the car year-round, except when it snowed.
It's a great addition for Canadian owners who want to drive their cars in the cooler, wetter months.
I drive my car when it snows here. What's wrong with you guys?
No way I'm driving my IM on snowy (and salty) roads. I don't want the body to rust away.
Check this poor '68 Intermeccanica Italia someone put away wet!

I know Henry has worked his magic on at least one Italia, but that one looks like it's close to being a parts car.
