I have a 2017 Intermeccanica d and I have recently noticed a gas drip in front of rear tire on passengers side. There is a small rubber hose that ends there and it is coming from that hose. Does anyone have an idea what this might be I have never noticed it before yesterday. Thanks in advance for any input.

If the hose originates at the front of the car it may be the hose that is attached to the a nipple on the filler neck. It is to vent the gas tank so it can get air. Most of those just terminate into the front wheel well. But I've heard of some people who have a hose running all the way to the rear wheel well. You'll have to trace the hose back to its origination point to be certain.

Hi all,

I believe Robert has the answer. When I filled it with gas I put in as much fuel as would fit, when I drove up a hill some spilled into that hose and came out the hose at the back tire. When I blew air in the fuel tank it came out that hose. I won’t fill the tank quite so full. Thanks everyone for sending in your ideas, thus the problem is solved.

Still, a pic or two of your car would be nice

Woo hoo! Look at me. I got one right. Even a broken analog clock is right twice a day. I guess it was just my turn.

That’s the beauty of this site. No matter what happens to our cars, there’s usually someone that has already solved the mystery.

I just wish more prospective owners would check in before they put money down with certain “builders.”

@Mike Dowd nice car and BTW that is the overflow hose from the GAS tank.  It is better to not overfilll the tank and allow 1/2 inch to 1 inch of air space at the top of the tank for expansion.  It happens to me as well with my IM if I overfill the GAS tank, then you get the smell and if it is hot out then some expansion can cause it to leak on the ground/floor of the garage.

Funny Bob, on the match solution, I nearly fell off my chair
