Anybody seen this supposed Intermeccanica on Ebay? I have never seen that dash, engine lid, or windscreen used on a replica before, and they all look awful! I would prefer a standard version anyday.

Now a bent-screen coupe would be a neat thing to reproduce....

If in fact IM was attempting to replicate the Gmund cars (1948-1951) or the early Stuttgart cars (1950-1951), it may very well be an IM product. The dash and some of the features are quite similar. While there are not a lot of pictures of these cars around, I do see a few photos in Porsche 356 (Conradt) and Original Porsche 356 (Meredith). It could very well be a customized version on one of the early Porsche prototypes.
We had another thread on this car "Interesting details on an older IM"

Charles is right I think the owner was customizing to get closer to that really early look with the windshield and dash.......but in this case it is IMO one of those cars that got so personalized it doesn't speak to the rest of us. He probably started with an early pan based IM, and went from there.

As I recall there is someone who has built a few really accurate replicas of the early Gmund cars. Maybe Thunder Ranch had a part in those. I saw them here on this site....... and there was one on EBAY........maybe a year or more ago.
