Terry and all the link does not work because for some reason the whole link is not underscored. Just cut and paste the link or go direct to:

go to the inventory tab and look for the 61 Silver coupe. BTW they now have the basket case 63B I sold listed as a 62.
Damn I wish you could edit a post.......what is up with that?

EDIT! Shit now I see the edit at the top of your post..........duh! But only until someone else other than you has posted to the thread......interesting.

Terry thanks for the truly kind words. Did you go on the tour yesterday? I had my days mixed up I thought it was today........bummer.

Vince I hear you and your story. I also struggled with things and money on one income earlier in life. It has taken me over 7 years and a lot of buying and selling not to mention hard sweat equity to get near my end game. When Henry is done I will be there so I can focus on fun and not working every night and weekend to finish the restoration of a car any car unless I want to. Time for family and grand kids.

BTW as for the values of the coupes. They are getting to the point where you can now restore any pile of rust and get back almost full value. The T-5 Coupes like mine are the least popular of all the 356 next to the Karman Hardtops and the gig value was the whole in the roof. EC is dreaming at the $68.5K and unless they fix the issues with the car still visible in the pictures they will be hard pressed to get that amount. There were only a limited number of 356's ever made and all the baby boomers want to reconnect with their youth in some form or another. This is one way and they will overpay because they can and don't have the skills to know a unrestored rose piece of shit looking car from a shiny turd.

That is the sad part.......;-)

Cheers!

Just so I am not mis-understood, I think anyone who puts out 50 large for a replica, has a few screws loose. but That's just my opinion, and we know what they say about opinions...
Gerd, hanging with you has made me realize how few friends I actually have..

Oh, Gerd, you know it doesn't get much better than soiling a nice young church girl, especially on Sunday.....

Vince,

I'm not putting out "50 large" for a reproduction of anything. I'm putting out more than "50 large" for a custom built new car from a 50 year old custom coach builder that just happens to build a car that will look like a 1959 Porsche Carrera GT Speedster.

Hey guys spend way more than that for a 32 Ford Highboy........;-)

Tom I would be happy to list the build for you and others to enjoy. Terry good idea for a location. Not tonight as I'm finally hitting the rack.........look for it tomorrow. I spent all evening pulling apart the motor to be rebuilt.

I need help figuring out how to post pictures........
Dave...you don't have to justify your IM purchase. I've never owned a replica, but have owned many original classics. I have an orignal 64 SC but I am having Henry build me a 59 roadster because I have the opportunity to order and build a car the way I want. Sorry Vince, but it sounds like sour grapes.
Hi Dave,
I placed my order on June 24th. It's a pretty basic roadster with 100HP engine, leather, original VDM steering wheel/horn ring in ivory, original shifter, high performnce 4-speed tranny....
I chose Radium Green, a 1950-53 356 color. Looks good so far.
Your car looks great. I love the color combo. That's also a great engine you chose.
John
John,

I mailed the deposit on September 8th. They are building the chassis now and Henry wants the motor and trans by the second week in November. I did not go with a metallic color for possible repaint/rock chip issues. Radium Green was my first choice. Henry was hoping the Fashion Gray sample from John Willhoit got to him this past Monday before he left on vacation so he could pop it in the mail to me. If not all the color samples will be there for me to pick the final shade of colors.
John A from Canada. Yes it's Oct 10 and we have snow. I put winter tyres with studs on the truck this am. I've been dreaming 356 replica for 20 years and now my piggy bank is ready to burst. I was prowling the want ads then I found Vintage, IM, Becks, and ASA. At ASA I found this site. I feel I struck the motherlode. Opinons, facts. cars for sale, knowledge, experience, it is all here. I've learned more since finding this site than previously. Yes get in, shut yer yap, and drive it like it's your mother-in-law's. Life can be brutally short, so drive, drive smooth and fast. All these cars are good if not great. And we love them so much that we will argue over small details such as the shape and colour of the tail lights. Love the one you're with and drive hard.
I am shakin' with the anticipation of owning a speedster. Rented one in Vegas and it sold me on owning one.

I have not decided yet. Steve from SAS explained that due to Canadian regulations I could not bring a car over the border unless it was 15 years old. Hmmm does that mean registered as 15 years old or manufactured 15 years ago? Madness. So much to know.
Anyway, my two larger concerns are head space, as I'm 6'3", and heat as I live on the bald prarie.
Hey guys, when does the 2010 calendar come out and what west coast car show do you recommend for early 2010?
Ohhhhhhhhh......the madness.
