A friend who was helping finish of some of the electrical mysteries which
have taken residence in my Speedster, came up with an old pamphlet
on the on the IM Speedster. I'm sending over pictures of the individual pages.
I hope they are legible.

A nice piece of IM history. For a really interesting read, try the book:
Intermeccanica: The story of the prancing bull, by Andrew McCredie, www.veloce.co.uk publishers.
A lot of good stuff on the history of Intermeccanica over the years. The company has produced a number of unique cars before embarking on Speedsters.
I like the '65 Mustang station wagon! Not so much but the Italia and Omega were outstanding cars and demand big $ now.
You don't see those too often. As with the originals, you need the 289.
High quality scans of a similar brochure is in our Library.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm driving my IM everyday now. Needs a little
tweaking, but I'm having a blast. I'm glad I switched the carbs from the
44's to the 38's. Great idle, and incredible middle end.
Forgot to mention, I drove the Hustler, and it's fast. It's lighter than
the Speedster, and you can really feel it. The car is almost finished, just
waiting for the floor carpet so I can install the seats. It was hair raising
driving it on a milk crate. I'll send some pics tomorrow. I realize now
that that I need some sunrises. Who has them?
The Hustler had its first bath in 35 years. Seems very proud.
Interesting, having the Speedster and the Hustler running at the
same time. The Speedster is much more refined. The Hustler is very
low to the ground, and your basically sitting on the floor pan.
I can't wait to see how it handles.
Wow! That cleaned up pretty nicely for a car not being washed for 35 years!

Is tha an ELAN? or what is a HUSTLER...is it an ELAN REPLICA?
I love it!
He Hustler is a kit car like the Speedster. It's built on a VW pan,
and had a few different motor options. It was made to have a stock
VW motor. The car is very light so you didn't need a lot of motor
to make it go. This one has a 1959 Porsche Super in it, and is quite
peppy. They're rare, only 43 were made. Its full name is " Autodynamics
Hustler"

Thank you...found some info on internet...must fly with the POrsche motor..how does it handle?
I only drove it around the parking lot at my shop. Never got it
above 40. It seems to handle incredibly well, the car is right on the
ground. The reason it looks like Lotus is, one of the designers
was involved with Lotus, and apparently made body parts for them.
I guess you weren't around when I found the car so, I'm going to give you
a short update. My wife found the car in a barn of a property she was
working at. She called and said she found a plastic car with a Porsche
motor in it, was I interested. You can imagine my response. I bought the
car not knowing too much about it. I had never even heard of one.
When posting the story with this club, and getting their response, I
started doing some research, and asking a lot of questions. Thanks to
alot of the guys on this site, I was able to put together quite a scrap book.
The car was in that barn for about 35 years. Also in it was a 1969 Suburu
truck, which also I had never seen.
Autodynamics is more known for their '60 Formula-Vee involvement with Ray Caldwell. The Formula Vee used a 1200 cc and later 1600 cc T3 VW engine 69 mm crank and 85.5 pistons. Front suspension look familiar? Total weight 500#.
And OF COURSE their stylish line of Hustler influenced furniture (photo courtesy of Ashcreek) -
