Generally, the prevailing theme here is that Intermeccanica builds the best-quality Speedster but that the price is kinda high.

What exactly DOES Intermeccanica charge for a new base Speedster? Their website has prices for some options but no base price that I can find. I've sent for some literature from them but I'd like to hear from some folks here with personal experience with Intermeccanica regarding pricing.

For those Intermeccanica Speedster owners, is the extra money worth it, and why?

Thanks!

When I was comparing manufacturers in Jan/Feb of this year, Intermeccanica was about $10,000 more than Vintage or JPS for a similarly equipped car.
A well-built VS or JPS with a few goodies will run between $21,000 and $24,000, depending on engine choice. The same configuration at IM would be $30,000 to $35,000.
It is "apples and oranges," however. The IM is a much different car than a Vintage or JPS...more sophisticated and refined than Porsche's original Speedster concept. The VS and JPS cars are more basic...truer to the "no frills" idea.
When I ordered IM Roadster (Convertible D replica) 2 months ago, it was $25580. Don't know about speedster but you should be able to request price list from their web site - www.intermeccanica.com/contact.html
IM speedster has roll up window instead of side curtain. I haven't seen other speedsters (VS, JPS) so I have no comment on quality comparison.
