Yep, it's a bummer all right. It's like I'm losing a girlfriend. But I swear when this economy turns around I'll be driving down PCH in a
Speedster again. So...meanwhile, here are some more pics. The engine isn't real pretty but it's clean and no leaks. Got the original IM badge (kinda wish I'd left it in place). Then there are those comfortable seats and cool roller-gas-pedal for driving with the flip-flops on.

I've never driven it up in the mountains, (never ran chains on it) so I don't know how it would perform at altitude. All it knows is the PCH Newport Beach to Sunset Beach Sea-level drive. I was told it was built in '77, the bigger engine built in '96. I've had it for over 5 years and no problems. And Mike, let me know what time, I'll be around on the 10th.
I don't understand either. I love this little car. Mike was out from Texas and we took it for a putt around the block. I kinda forgot how much fun it is to drive. One guy that came said that he would like to sit with a cup of tea in my front yard and just look at it for a couple of hours. Another couple said that they are going to buy a new one for $43k. Is the economy picking up? (or is the lack of an air-conditioner in mine) I'm going for a drive.

If I'm right and from Mike's email address, Harbor Island is out beyond St. Helena and near Hunting Island State Park and then Fripp Island (where Pat Conroy, the author, lives). About 45 minutes from my house here at Shell Point and 5 minutes from that gastronomical landmark, the "Shrimp Shack".

Mike: Give me a call - I'm in the Beaufort phone book. Arranging for someone trustworthy to go look at this car is easier than you might think.
