So, with everything that is going on at the moment, I've (reluctantly) decided to put my car up for sale. I'm building a new house and a new family, and I haven't really got the time or space for the Speedster.
Most of you know the car in question - it was originally Dale Bates' car, and it is a 2001 Intermeccanica. Lots of original period parts and special features :
2276 CB Engine w/dual 44s and heim joint linkage, CB Wedge port heads, Coil and MSD mounted out of sight, electric fuel pump, oil cooler, MSD distributor
Original 356 Steering wheel w/Horn ring
Original 356 under dash parking brake
Original 356 heater control
15x6 Fuchs with low milage tires on front and new tires on rear, 5/16 spacers on rear wheels
Red interior with Oatmeal squareweave
Tan highbow top
1/2 and full tonneau
Front of car, from doors forward has been repainted by Intermeccanica.
Bumper overiders and overider bars
Period Blaupunkt radio, combined with 'stealth' Alpine amplifier, and iPod connector. Boston speakers front and rear, with custom period style chrome grills
Leitz Luggage rack
Original period badges (see photos)
California SB100 registered and the SB100 is fully transferable.
I'm asking $42,500 or very near offer.
John

One of my favorite cars. Good luck with the sale.
Any other pics?
Beautiful car, and a fair asking price. That car has always been reliable for Dale, and I know he enjoyed it quite a lot.
LOVE this car...!

That is a sweet car! As much as I love my roadster, I'll always have a soft spot for that Speedster. Sorry to hear you are selling it, John, you were perfect for it.
BTW John, you should mention that the wheels are "Deep 6's", a very desireable wheel that are ever increasing in value.
Good Luck with everything.

Aarrgh, you guys are KILLING me!
Don't worry Jimbo, you'll always have me and the Gerd....

Now, THAT's a comforting thought!
With hearts, Dale, with hearts. Deep 6's with hearts. It is Valentines Day after all...
If the right offer doesn't come along, then I will keep the Speedster. To be honest, having Dale in the background is a bit like the child adoption authorities - he will have to approve the new owner, the new garage, background checks etc. So, no guarantee that this will come to a deal...
