Hi Gerry,

I am also a member of the Upper Canada Region PCA and missed the concours this year. I believe there is a picture of you accepting the trophy at www.pcaucr.org/PCAUCR/Site.nsf/public/6d8e85cfba20bf6785256d2500535a8f
Congratulations on your award!

Bruce Farrow the resident PCA 356 guru said the car was, "very well done". A great compliment, coming from him. Bruce is extremely knowledgable and I am going to enlist his help in 'GTing' my replica.

I wonder with the 50th anniversary of the speedster coming up next year if there will be a space for replicas.

There is more info at www.speedster50thanniversary.com

Break out the Zaino!

On June 22nd 2003 the Porsche Club of America PCA (Upper Canada Region) held it's 2003 Annual Concours d'Elegance near Toronto, Ontario Canada.

I drove my IM initially just to see the other 356 at the show. But when I arrived I said "what the hell" I'm going to enter my car in just to see how my car would measure up against the authentic factory Porsche 356.

I knew that the it wouldn't be possible for my car to win in the 356 class of vehicles. Besides it would not be politically correct for a replica car to win at a PCA show. ( other PCA members would bitch )

After the judges submitted in their rulings, they announced the winners and runner ups for each class. And all the winners received the PCA & Porsche Crest mounted logos in a picture frame.

After all the individual (class of vehicle) awards were announced and handed out, I though it was all over.

But the final award was then announced for the most favorite car of the show the "People's Choice" covering all class of vehicles.

They called my name ??? ...... who me??? It was my Intermeccanica !!!!

They awarded me a fairly large and only trophy of the whole event!!!

WOW!!! what a complete shocker!!!

Pictures with the PCA president too!!!

I will be posting pictures of all the 356 cars at the show.

Henry at Intermeccanica should be very proud!!

Congrats on your trophy, always great to see replica owners willing to stick in there with the originals. Been there done that and you can check your ego at the door, a few snide remarks will get to you if you hang your ego on your sleeve. Having seen a couple of Henry's recent cars at Knotts,(and being beaten by them)I can attest to quality of workmanship, now if he can move to LA so I can get some of his expertise on a more regular basis.
It's great to see the local PCA club has such an openness.

Now I'm sure they wouldn't give any awards to the new Cayenne!!!

On a related note, the 356 Registry folks in the Boston area were always encouraging me to bring my replica to their monthly meetings. A lot of the 356 and PCA members are car lovers and can appreciate the car. The Porsche snobs can look down their noses, but you'll find those types in every club and crowd.

Congratulations on your win. I loved the pix you posted of your car and look forward to more soon.
