I've been lurking on this site for some time now and I'm interested in an intermeccanica roadster (new or used), but still haven't had the chance to check one out.

I've seen replicas from Vintage, JPS, and Thunder Ranch. I'd like to see some IM's too, just to get the idea.

The creature comforts of the Roadster appeal to me (roll up windows etc...), but the price scares me a bit. The SB100 scares me too here in California.

Anybody have an IM in or near Redondo Beach?

SB 100 is easy if you know how to do it. I just did for my new IM. If you want the best reproduction buy a Intermeccanica. They are the original builders of reproduction Speedsters and Roadsters. Even their Speedsters have roll up windows, power of course.

BTW you can get a SB100 at anytime in the year. The big difference in the "first 500" certificates is it allows you to not have to meet the CA smog rules. You can still get a SB100 after the first 500 but you have got to meet the stricter emission standards.

Good luck!

Dave

That's good to know. I'd better do some more homework with the DMV on this one.

BTW. I have a car for sale. I don't have the room/money for three cars, so this would have to make space for the Speedy or Roadster.

1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible. 455 motor, cowl induction hood, power top, power windows. Asking $21,000.

Don't know if anyone on this site is interested, but I'll post anyway.

Henry also has a Roadster and a Speedster listed for sale on IM's website:

Good luck with your search.
Robert,

Send me the details on the Cutlass. I have a friend that is a freak for Oldsmobiles. It's not a 442 or W-30 is it?

BTW you also need to check with Henry if you want one and can't wait. He has a couple of cool possibilities for sale.

The Yellow one is a really cool car.

Wow I just missed your post........BTW Seattle is just a hop and a skip from Vancouver.......I'm just saying?
Robert,

I forwarded your info regarding the 72 Cutlass to a guy from Texas on the 356 Registry. He was coming out for the Lit meet in LA this weekend. Hopefully he will be able to check his e-mail and see the car. He was looking for a 70 but said a 71 or 72 could work.

Good luck.

I decided it was time to pull the trigger. I got in contact with Oz and I bought his 2004 IM speedster. It's a great car and I've been driving it everywhere the past few days.

Thanks Bob Eiland for pointing me in Oz's direction.

Thanks Will Pierson for the ride in your Roadster.

I might have to plan a run up the coast with you guys. This car is a blast to drive!

Rob
