I don't know, but Brian will get it shaken out when it gets to Georgia.
My pipes are about 6 1/2 inches off ground and living in Reno/Tahoe, lots of steep drives. Just have to take the sideways approach in. I have only rubbed pipes once or twice and now I know.....

I wouldn't be me if I wasn't doing something to break my car.
Looks like rear is a little too high. But that is just to me. Awesome looking car.

Better?

Thank you. He got the right belts and the radio in it. It's late leaving California, but should be on its way today.

That looks awesome.... great stance. Just watch those quick up hills and deep rain gutters...
you are going to enjoy the ride.

One last thing. To help with the front end float, I added two 25# bags of lead shot (one on each side of the battery). Car now handles "well" weather I have a full tank of gas or not.

I'm fired up. I guess, along with clutch and throttle cables, I should get some spare exhaust systems to hang on the garage wall.
Looks sharp. I especially like the look with no side trim. Al
Haa. My wife and I saw a couple of real Carreras at the Amelia Island Concours that didn't have the side trim. She liked the clean look, so we went that route...then she decided she wanted the overriders and luggage rack. Go figure.
I had mine built without side trim also, and I love it. I figured it would be a lot easier to add than delete if I changed my mind. Btw, did the same thing with the stereo. I haven't wished for an instant that I had either. I find a stereo in a Speedster about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle.
Great choice on the color combo. Clean, understated 'outlaw' look with painted wheels, no caps or side-trim. Get used to people constantly stopping you to talk about your car!

Ooooooooooooo.................
Nice Mustang, but I have always been partial to MGs, and have had two Midgets ('62 and '65) in the past. They definitely get in your blood. You have wide ranging tastes, my man.
Like my first post says, it's a sickness. The MG turned out really nice, but I must admit, I don't love it. Currently restoring my first car, a '65 Mustang fastback. Dad bought it for me for $350.00 when I was 14 years old - 34 years ago. It was incredibly far gone, but he passed a few years ago and the car feels like my last tangible connection to him, so...

VERY COOL!
I'm going to look at a 67 GTO tomorrow. Will post up if I end up buying it.

Nice. Good luck. I restored a '70 Judge with a good friend of mine. His fiance hated it and made him sell it. I told him to keep the car and ditch the girl, but he didn't listen. Now he's divorced AND he doesn't have the car.

Bwaaaaaaa Haaaaaaaa! 19652plus2 (or whatever your name is), you certainly fit in with this group. Nice selection of cars you have there!
@Christian - NICE, hope that works out! BTW - how was the surf in San Salvador?

Oh man... it was the BEST surf.. It was actually Mexico I went to this time (although I usually hit El Sal)
Here's a few pics:

Yeah, Midgets aren't for everyone, partly because they're (wait for it) so small. I'm a couple of inches too tall to enjoy one for more than an hour. That one sure did turn out nice, though.
The '65 Mustang labor of love is gonna be gorgeous, I'll bet. Keep posting pictures. We're all-around gearheads here, not just about Speedsters.
Thanks for the compliment on the Midget. My first full paint job, albeit with my friend the custom painter hanging over my shoulder talking me through every step. I'll keep you posted on the progress of the fastback. It's going to be a long, multi-year process (in fact, it already is), but the hard part is behind me, I've had to replace every single piece of sheet metal on the car, with the exception of the roof. It could've gone much quicker and easier, but I insisted on documenting and duplicating every single spot weld, so it looks like it's never been apart. Also, some of the repro parts are not quite accurate, so some things had to be cut apart, grafted together and modified.
Another of the Midget...
And the Mustang so you get an idea of what I was working with...
It was completely submerged in Hurricane Isabel. This was early evening, when the storm surge had subsided and I was out taking pictures.
BTW, Christian, nice looking vacation. I could use some time off...

VERY impressive resto on both cars (especially the Mustang) Hope we'll be able to see you at one of the SOC events/cruises!
Christian - great looking surf, perfect for a goofy foot like you (and me)! It looks like your new stick worked out nicely!
Chris,
You're Speedster looks terrific! I like the colors. Hopefully they can get it wrapped up and to you in time for Carlisle...We'll be anxious to se it.

Brian assures me I'll have it in time for Carlisle.
I've been reading here non-stop for days. Lots to learn...lots.
I know these look like the same pictures of the same car, but they're all I have to offer right now. It arrived at South Atlanta Motorsports this morning. Now, it gets pulled apart, wet sanded and buffed...

That will clean up very nicely! Full speed ahead!
