After considering the options of using (1)adj. spring plates which if I understand correctly progressively un-loads the torsion bar the lower it goes, (2)unloading the bars by moving the position of the stock plates, or (3)using the offset plates that allow the torsion bars to retain the full loading while moving the bearing housing up two inches. I did go with Red 9, not the pistol, but the UK product.
For me this has fit the bill. The tops of the rear wheel rims are covered by the fenders by 1". After driving the same streets roads and freeways the difference is remarkable from have the stock plates set for the 2" lower and using these plates. Jarring and high speed vibrations are significantly reduced. Wheel hopping is reduced but I don't go there thay often. The over all cost after shipping accross the great water was not much less then getting shoter torsion bars, covers, and adjustable plates. The first set ordered was lost, but Simon at red 9 did not have trouble getting another set sent out. The first set arrived and Simon has yet to contact me about what he wants done with them. If any one is interested in them let me know, or contact Simon at his site red9design.co.uk
