FWIW Al started his car before Greg did. So Al "wins" the longest build contest, unless he finishes soon.....
IS there a prize at Carlisle for this?
Yeah, we let them drive their own car as long as they want.
Maybe give the winner(s) an award, like; “I finally Finished!” On a spiffy wall plaque.
Or maybe we just go bowling.
Seriously, though, if someone, especially ALB and Wolfgang, manage to complete their car in time to drive it to Carlisle or the West Coast gathering, they deserve all of the attention and accolades we can give them. We’ve all followed along on any number of unique builds on this forum, sometimes giving helpful advice and other times marveling at the workmanship of some of our members (or professional builders). In the end, not only is the builder full of pride in their new ride, but the rest of us are proud of their accomplishment, too.
After all....... How many people get to say that they built a whole automobile AND got it legally on the road? That’s a huge accomplishment and deserves a huge Tip ‘O the Hat.
@DannyP, @IaM-Ray and @Gordon Nichols- You guys are too funny!
For what' it's worth... I don't plan on starting a speedster project (#50) until mid January and I'll have it done for Carlisle ~
I’d say Alan just threw down the gauntlet, Al. 😬

I'm not retired, Lane, so it wouldn't be a fair contest...
True, but these things only take 40 hours to build, right? 🤣
