Is the San Diego C&C next Sunday?

David K. is the SD C&C next week? Lets get the SD crew together if it is. There is a great breakfast place near there called Cafe on Park or lets just meet up.
Will, Kevin, David and all the SOC members that want to come lets get together.

Dave, I am on for C&C next week.

It is on my calander for the third Sunday every month. That would be Dec. 21. I have not seen any confirmation - usually found in the Wheels section of the Saturday SD Union Tribune.

I think I am on the Email list also. The organizer's name was Bud Suiter and talking with him last month, he indicated things were working nicely. Last month's meet was the second event and he said population had doubled from 65 cars the first event to 138 cars the second time. I encouraged him to keep going! Pretty sure last month I got an invite via his mass Email. Hopefully again this week.

Anyway, I'm going. Easy drive on a Sunday morning (if the bad weather clears next week).

about 18 years ago when I lived in Poway, there was a "Chicken Pie Diner" I believe on Pomerado Rd. every Tuesday night was cruise night, usually attracted about 75-100 cars, but it was fun....

That sounds very familiar Vince, but I cannot confirm. All the cruise nights are usualy listed in Saturday's paper, but this week's section was very abbreviated. Guess the editor is on vacation or sumthin'. At least they had the crossword puzzle - I usually nail that bugger.

If memory serves (boy there is a stretch)isn't the Diner where the Monday Night Car Club meets? I always laughed that they met on a Tuesday night. This definitely needs checking out.

I am not sure and a phone call will do it, but I think the parking lot is so screwed up around Christmas due to Target that he stops during the XMAS rush.

C & C is a GO for this Sunday. I received the following Email from Bud Suiter:

"We are ON this Sunday, December 21st from 7 AM to 9 AM for Cars and Coffee in the Park in front of the San Diego Automotive Museum. We got the permit Monday which is why we have not had a chance to advertise. There will be coffee and donuts and we

Balboa Park is one of the prettiest places in San Diego and I'm looking forward to Sunday. Hope more SOC members can come out and play, it would be nice meet some of the San Diego club members.

Regretfully I won't be able to make it this weekend. A couple of our grandkids are in a Christmas program at the church their parents go to, and we promised to be there! If my wife found out I bailed on the kids little pageant for free donuts, I would be in DEEP doo doo - don't ask me how I know!!

Jimbo, I just cannot believe that you are a grandfather. I know you did time in SE Asia (meaning that you're old enough), and I know intellectually that I'm old enough to have grandkids myself. Still, it just doesn't seem possible.

Gerd is kinda in need of a few jelly filled and Vince you could egg him on and scout out campsites. And Mark forget your diet! I want to see your new engine. Billy drive the Ferrai down and verbaly abuse the locals. Also Desi, Dave G, Robert, Gabe......
Would love to see the rest of the northern crew down here mixing it up and scaring the SD locals. And our local SOC seem a little shy except for Will, Kevin, David K, (calling Fred). But it is kinda far away from the OC.

Dave, Perhaps planning a run to the Hotel Del for February or March in preperation for Morro Bay would be in order...that is your best shot at getting a bunch of us together in Sandy Eggo....

Just got back from a warm up cruise and my clutch (cable) failed about a block from home. No way I can get it fixed in time for C&C tomorrow, so I will go sans D.
I did the trick with starting in 2nd, worked great. The starter got the car rolling and it fired up. That got me home. Read that trick here.

Oh well. but it is an easy fix, just don't want to deal right now.
