Is your car named?

At the risk of sounding TOO eccentric, I debated on weighing-in with my new car's name. Then, I thought about the fact that I actually bought a speedster and I get jazzed about things like reproduction Jorg screwdriver decals. Then, I realized that naming my car is probably just the tip of the iceberg. So . . . it's "Greta".

This also allows me to say things at work like: "I'm going to service Greta this weekend, if anyone wants to come over and watch."

Anyone else?

Since my wife referred to it as "your mistress", I felt a name was necessary.
Of course, the color helped in naming her "Penny".

I thought Subidoo would be appropriate since mine is powered by 170hp Subaru engine, although Hoss tagged it The Silver Spirit.

A friend of mine one time referred to my car as a delinquent so it is now proudly called The Dink.

As for our name.... it's just "Pedee".
Sad, but true, we missed out on the greatest piece of luggage (old with LOTS of character!) that was listed on ebay. It had the initials "PD" engraved in gold! I should have bid a million for it, but, it was not to be!
And maybe it's a 'female thing', but why do people think it strange have names for their cars??? I personally believe that they all have hearts & souls... maybe it's because I grew up with Disney's Herbie!
So keep the list coming with all the names!

I haven't named mine, but Pam christened it "The Precious" (think Gollum from the Lord of the Rings), because she says I dote on it too much. I can't imagine what she's talking about.

Jessica, for the obvious VW Rabbit lineage brought by the GTI engine. Vada, my dear bride calls it Baby. I cant imagine why...

Ok! I know we have a Hooptie. Even when it was a bug Mine was oldyeler. and it was on the plate.

I guess I am as of centered as anyone.

Good news Is I'm aware of it.. That means there is still hope for me.

Many years ago, Alan M. called my car "Blackie", and so the name stuck.
Although on some occasions in the shop, she's been called "You Bitch". :)

I wanted a hot rod but could only afford a speedster replica.

That left me with "Cruzin Tub" which I had to shorten to CRZNTUB for the licence plates. Wonder FP has his car's name on the licence plates?

Mt licence plate is LTRDCR That stands for " Little red car"

My Sweet Young Bride named it after our Jack Russell Terrorist that passed away last year at 17. I just call it "That F***in' Crate".

"The Red Man" Think chewing tobacco. I called it that out of desparation, not being able to think of a more clever name. Finally, the name just stuck. My ivory colored VS, the Tubaru predecessor, was called "Algebra" in recognition of my 9th grade teacher who took me for my first ride in a 356.

El Diablo...Jim Ignacio named him for me.....why? I think it's obvious....

The Hoopty's name was originally Theresa.
The guy who originally built it was a retired Air Force doctor, and he told me he named the car after a stripper he once knew in Germany.
The last time I called that was in 2003, after the silver paint job (below) and before the big do-over.

(I changed its name well before I met my wife, who spells her name without the "H.")

Mine 's "Speedy" but may change to Crazy 8-Ball when alls said and done...

Oooo, I know where you could get the perfect shift knob.

My grandson calls it the Beedercar. The engine is blown so the current name is not printable.

On the down side My mom calls mine ..The washtub..

Never really thought of it as a name,, but maybe it is. Whenever someone asks what model it is,, I just reply that it is a "red '58 Porsche Sorta",,, and it is,, well,, sorta,, ;-)
