Rusty has one that I'm going to pass on.
I dunno Kelly... Buying a used bra seems kinda kinky, ya know?
Where's GERD?
Good move. If you're towing you want the entire front end protected. Musbjim even covers his windshield. I found a used Colgan bra for a 356 made in the 80's. I got lucky it was like brand new. Covercraft has since bought out Colgan and you can order one for under $200 bucks that will completely protect the front of your car with the exception of the windshield. I'll post a pic of one off of the Internet.
I was about to shell out $400 bucks for the one Lane has. They look the best but those are so difficult to put on and take off. My bumper guards would have made it even more of a hassle.
Here is a link to a thread with a Colgan that sold on here last year.

Rusty: Txs for the link and pic. Lane has already expounded for me on the virtues of his cool bra design, and I have pinged the Co that made his -- waiting to hear. $400!!! yikes.
Troy says I don't need one -- hmmmm . . .
$400 if you have bumper guards. She quoted me about $350 without. If you have Wardlow make yours please please post pics!
Anyone have a PIC of Jim's windshield cover used during his towing trips?
My guess would be: Jim? Bet he has a few pics, and maybe a video showing how he does it. Just sayin' . . .
A piece of cardboard and some duct tape would save a lot of money...
I was even thinking some vinyl with soft backing from the fabric store, cut to windshield shaft and locate the snaps built into the car as anchor points.

Michael - here is the towing set-up I had for my previous VS. Click on pics to enlarge.
Got some rubber matting from Lowe's (or was it Home depot?) and cut it to fit the windshield & driving lights...
The tow lights attached to my luggage rack. Could not see the car behind me when in tow, so I attached the antenna so that I could see the car's position behind me.
This the tow set-up for my current VS. All similar as previous, except for use of only a full bra for protection from debris thrown from rear tires of tow car. As Troy mentioned, debris from rear tires of tow car has not been a big issue.

Ah yes the blue tape sticks well and leaves no residue. Having the hood bra probably is a must if the tow vehicle doesn't have long mud flaps. Thank you Jim for the PICs to illustrate your ideas.
Great pics MUSB, txs. You give me hope for a clean tow when needed. Still looking for a bra . . .
Great idea with the antenna gizmo!

I said, I have never used one while towing and I have never had any evidence of road rash on any of the 30+ Speedsters I have towed for thousands of miles. No harm in using one for the added insurance if you feel you need it.
My theory of why I have not had any road rash is that most of my miles were behind a Jaguar. Being very close behind a car which is close to the ground doesn't allow debris to be kicked up.
Just a theory, but I haven't had any road rash ever while towing.
MUSBJIM: who made that bra? I see it stretched over the bumper and driving lights, and I would have the same deal. How does that work? Been talking to Ca Car Cover and Colgan, and they are waffling about how their product would fit. Claim it is designed for a 356A, not a Speedster, and I figure there is no difference, and the clerks there do not know.
I believe that's a Colgan now made by Covercraft. I just bought one.
When ordering from Covercraft tell them it's for a 1957 356A. If you have or want openings for your bumper guards and front license plate those are selectable options.
OK rusty, txs for the input. will wait to see if Jim can chime in . . .
