Whether TR did it or not, it was done several years ago, so it definitely wasn't CCW's work. I believe it was written up in one of the kit car magazines back in the day.
Didn't we look at this thing a little while ago? I thought it was F'n ugly then and my opinion hasn't changed; just because you can doesn't always mean you should....
Yes, there was a thread on this car a while back. Unlike Al, I (sort of) liked the way it looked. I'd like it a lot more if it didn't have those wheel arch eyebrows.
I noticed there is no rain cover under the engine grills. A real no-no if the owner ever drives it in the rain. That big fan will spin the rain water to every corner of the engine compartment.

The previous thread, for any one that cares to revive the moment.
My favorite comment-
Stan thinks it wouldn't be a good idea to drive it in the daylight.
Once again-- you are correct, sir.
That thing fell out of the ugly tree, and hit every branch on the way down.
Seems I like to repeat myself...
That's ok, Ron. We can't all think the same or like the same things. I have friends that think quite unlike myself; if we ever do meet I'm sure we'll get along great!!
well I agree with the overview of the previous thread that although some may not have chosen nor appreciate the embellishments above all there's no doubt it was very well executed. And probably I'm biased in that my second car of choice other than a 356 is a mercedes 190/300sl roadster so partial to the fender eyebrows. Outstanding wheels with or without the red lines I would like it more with the mesh style headlight covers on it. Anyway bottom line I guess is these are replicas so originality is out the door to begin with and frankly I wouldn't take for free a lot of ones I see so to each his/her own.

I really like the old Mercedes roadsters too.
Al
Get your speedster finished so we can go for a drive. After over four months mine is almost ready to come back home.
Did you go to the VW show in Vancouver?
i missed both you guys there this year. (took 1st in class too)
There were some really really nice cars there.
If someone watches it I wonder what it will go for. I would think $35k at least. The hard top is no jewel but the Speedster clamshell and the engine fan on the Scat engine do it for me.
Congrats on the win, Mango. I didn't go this year.
Guys- I missed it this year (family stuff). C'est la vie....
