I tried using that 5000 grit paper once, but found it just as easy to use one of my Jack Russells and rub them all over the car.
They seemed to enjoy the routine...
Boss color, BTW.

That is a nice colour! A 356, fits any colour IMHO. Ray

I think Kleenex is about 5000 grit. That's as fine as frog hair (and that's pretty fine).
Joe,
I can't tell you how happy these posts make me. I hope you can really enjoy this with your wife and kids.
Joe, you should seriously consider getting a GOOD Xpel film fitted to the whole front of the car once it is all buffed and before they put on all the trim. Unless you like the bra look. Ray

Thanks Stan, one of the main reasons for the Suby is to get the Mrs. to come along for a ride.

I have just started the research on who makes the best/reasonable priced film. Suggesstions welcome.
Joe-I just put the SunTek PPFC film on my Ferrari. Looks great, UV resistant, self healing, and clearer that the Xpel film from what I hear. Definitely worth checking out. My friend in town who is a body guy and painter couldn't discern which panels had been coated. That good.
BTW...your car looks SUPER! Love that stone gray!
Thank you (again) Anand. I need to circle up with Carey to see if his guys can apply it.
Robert, I have seen that color too and I agree it would make any 356 look good.
I have a friend who wrapped his whole R8 coupe you cannot see the typical swirls in the black that is so common with black paint. looks awesome Ray

You know that the pictures were taken during the wet-sand process, right? I'd assume the hand print in question is in the paint dust.
Final buff, awaiting turn in assembly shop.
Looks great! Don't you love Fridays?
Best day of the week Tom, how is Natalie progressing.
Great looking job there Joe. Summer's just around the corner...
Thanks Bob, all the credit goes to Carey Hines and his amazing team. I am hoping to have it delivered late April early May.
They started on some bright work items and yes those are LED headlight bulbs. Taking a trip to see it in person next week.
Are these splined or bolt ons?
I will have more details on these bad boys tomorrow as I am headed to Special Edition tomorrow to see them in person.
Took a few more pics today, so excited to my tub in person. The color is amazing, Carey Hines and his team are amazing.
Car looks GREAT Joe! Love that color!! Congrats!
Rusty they are bolt ons. They so spin off to reveal a hubcap which you can see (sort of). Believe it or not they are fairly light weight. Chris Coddington built them and they are pretty freaking cool, IMHO.
Nice Wheels.
Joe, this car is absolutely superb -- the color is really fantastic! I have seen stone grey before at John Willhoit's shop, and Carey has got it right on.
The wheels -- those are just dreamy. As Stan would say, "they make me weak in the knees."
Can't wait to see this car all done! My 356 is in the paint booth, so go take a peek at it whilst you're there!
Anand
Your car is really moving along nicely. I looked at getting those CC wheels on my build but opted for original Fuchs in the end. I also like them in polished aluminum... Ray
Thanks for the kind words Anand and I did more than peek at your car. Carey would not let me take her home but I did manage to get a few pics.
The wheels really turned out nice, it was a big leap and a bigger hit to the wallet.
Joe, awesome all around. Rudges in any form aren't cheap -- but at least they are well built and will definitely be unique!
I understand that Natalie went home with another man tonight.......

Stan, I was just joking!
Sorry, Bill: I'm just slow that way.
Joe: Those wheels. That color. Wow.
