Came back for a two week vacation and got my car back on the road. It's incredible how I hadn't used it for three months and the battery is still in good shape. (In January before I left I just unhooked the battery and filled the tank with gas and Stabil (fuel stabilizer). I cranked it for a while until it got gas in the bowls and away it went. Took it out on the road and it worked as if I had driven it yesterday. Great feeling and how I missed it!

Ricardo:

Hey, Thanks for all that rain and overcast stuff all Y'all in New Orleans have been sending up into the Low Country for the PAST TWO WEEKS....

I understand that the WX in the Big Easy has been great, but you just keep pumping that moisture up across the Eastern part of the country. Not that we in the "Drought Country" are complaining....far from it. Maybe that drought in Georgia will diminish just a little, now.

Glad you're back home and having fun with your Speedie. You must be just coming out of "Monsoon Season" in San Juan about now, too, so the riding weather should be great for the next two weeks for you.

Nice to hear from you.....Can you get Fema to send you to study the architecture in South Central Pennsylvania along about, say, May 16'th??

Just wondering......

Gordon
Architecture in South Central Pennsylvania... in all 5 years of architecture school the Architecture of South Central Pennsylvania was never a topic of discussion.
Am I missing out on something?

We should no longer have drought problems as soon as Mike's front yard thaws out.

(37 days until I get my speedster)
Ricardo,
I just pulled mine out of storage today! Get this, my buddy who had my car in his garage is a mechanic. I stopped by to see him today and asked if he'd mind of I went by his place to get my car out? He said "No, and if you'd do me a favor, can you take that Cobra replica with the stroked 302 small block to my place and put it where your Speedster is?" to which I said "Uh, gee, I don't know? I'm really kinda busy now and I'm not sure I have the time to drive a 500hp Cobra around for awhile? Oh, OK since you're my friend I'll do it."
Holy Crap! Was that a fun car to drive! It did take a little bit away from firing up my little 1600cc pea-shooter but it was like "being home again" after a long 5 months.

I know this is the general section but as long as I'm here I'm going to ask a Technical question; I've mentioned in a long ago post that I had lost power with the switch to new webers. While driving my car today I had NO top end. 1st was fine, 2nd was weak, 3rd was weaker (only up to about 4k rpm at @ 55mph) and 4th it actually lost speed? I had my foot to the floor and it wouldn't go anywhere. Any ideas? It's almost as if the throttle didn't work?
Wow, a Cobra is definitely cool. Gord; this FEMA gig is unpredictable. I can only go on rotation at least every 30 days and since I'm going back to NOLA on the 20th I can't go on rotation until at least the 20th of May (if they approve it). I'm having a ball with my car though. I took it out again today and, just as you said, no rain for now, which is perfect by me. Tomorrow me and Jjr are attending the Rush concert here in San Juan (all you Cannucks be proud!!); should be close to 2-1/2 hours long!!
