Happy New Year to everyone! Now that we are officially into 2009 it is time to get the ball rolling for Morro Bay. Remember last year ... Friends, Food and Fun. This year promises to be even better.

We have a much nicer hotel which is near enough to shopping and restaurants to walk; covered parking for our cars; great dinner Friday and a new menu for the Saturday Banquet. Also, Sunday will be breakfast at a local eatery that many have tried and raved about with a short tour following before leaving for home(s).

Speaking of tours ... Friday's winery tour will be a super "not to be missed" led by the always enthusiastic BLAKE & JEN LEONG in their white Speedster (so we can see them and keep up!) and Saturday will be a whole new adventure to Cambria for driving/shopping/lunch led by the incomparable Mr & Mrs Pinapple (JIM & GINNY IGNACIO)in their well traveled silver Speedster. [This tour, of course, will be right after we finish with the town parade ... don't forget bags of wrapped candy to toss to the kids)

We need a tour leader for the Sunday morning tour. Last year Blake & Jen led it (and it was fantastic) but they should be given a break and be able to follow someone else for a change. If you would like to be a tour leader please email me directly (dustyjohn@aol.com) with your contact information and a proposed route and time estimate. Please do this ASAP to help me make necessary arrangements and notices.

If you have not made your arrangements yet now is the time to plan for your time off from work to make it to Morro Bay early. Also, now is the time to get your room reservation at the hotel as rooms are limited and it looks as though we will have a record turnout this year.

Any suggestions to make this a real standout gathering? If you have an idea please send me an email (dustyjohn@aol.com) to see if we can work it in. This is YOUR club; all I am doing is making the physical arrangements with the town. Please let me hear from you.

Get ready for the top event of the Speedster Owners year !!!!

Happy Trails,
Dusty and the Lovely Miss Sharon
PS
Isn't it time for a few of the East Coasters to join us??? Turn-about is fair play.

lol :) Indeed there have been occasions where I have been "spoken to", but she was fun with the sporty pace Warren set.
Of course I really wanted to be ahead of Warren running radar-recon with (I think it was) Eddy and Terry, but then I might have had fingernails on more than just my right leg.
It was all I could do to stay up with Eddie and Terry. I am sure Mark had no problem, probably just crusin', while we were working our butts off. Well, I guess we weren't going too fast, because Karen only yelled at me once. Unfortunately, we left a lot of folks behind. I don't know if they just didn't want to go that fast, or the CHP we passed got them. In either case, I would like to see who all wants to do this before I set something up. Do you want to drink wine before we do it or at the end of the run? or both?
Warren,
Please send me an email directly (dustyjohn AT aol.com) so we can talk about this. I have had a couple of offers for leadership on this tour and routes and need to consider all of them. Remember, this is from 10 am to noon on Sunday so there will be no wine prior to the drive. If you prefer to phone my number is 970-669-1588

Thanks,
Dusty
SUPER ! WARREN has agreed to plan a tour for Sunday which will end about noon so everyone can get on the road for home in good time. He is checking out the route this week. Also MUSBJIM and GINNY are checking out the route to Cambria and the places to eat up there for Saturday's run after the parade. BLAKE and JEN have already gotten thier Friday afternoon route planned and tell me there will be at least three wineries for us to visit and sample.

Plans for Morro Bay are coming together and the fun begins any minute. Be sure to get your room reservations in now before they run out of space.

Happy Trails,
Dusty and LMS
