I am so exhausted
Here with Carrol and Nancy
Have cried all day
How can someone in 10 months get so close to me
If the focken fence was not there bill would be alive
It caused the car to flip over
Bill was killed on impact
We are going tomorrow to identify and get his body
Please hug your love ones
Never thought last week would be the last time I would see my friend
Gerd, it is so nice to know that you and Carrol are able to support Nancy at this difficult time. I am so sorry that any one has to experience this, thanks for being such a great friend to Bill, you are a very kind generous person Gerd and well loved by all. Hang in there my friend.....
I met Bill at Carlisle. He was one of those rare people where you know instantaneously that if he were your neighbor, or your brother, your life would be immeasurably richer. There are many people on this site I feel that way about. With Bill it was just that it was instantaneous.

He was just incredibly infectious. Just having him turn that smile on me made me feel like a million bucks.

I can't get used to this. Gerd, the rest of you who were lucky to know him longer than a mere weekend, I can't imagine how tough this must be on you.
We went to the mortuary yesterday and arranged for Bill's funeral. He will be cremated as were his wishes. Not yet sure when this will occurr as the church is having a movie made there this week. We went to the tow yard and saw his car. We then went to the accident site and found some items of the car as well as his two way radio antenna. The road was red with the red material of his tonneau cover that was ground into the asphalt as the car slid upside down the highway.
This was an accident Bill could have walked away from had this large gate not been at this point in the highway. The gate is a large steel guard that is used to close the highway during the snow season. Bill's car appears to have spun around as he was going into a right turn. He then hit the steel guard on the drivers door which threw his car upside down and then it slid across the highway. there was aboultely no damage to the passenger side of the car. Had the gate not been there he would have slid over a dirt embankment.
I guess it was just Bill's time to go to heaven.
Gerd, please keep us up to date as to the arrangements. I will be out of the Country from September 17-28, but if I can't make it, Darrin and the family would like to represent.

I may not be on the site alot in the next week, so if any of you wouldn't mind Emailing me, that would be awesome.

I am still sitting here in utter shock reading what actually happened. "Time and unforseen occurence befall us all".

I am holding my family extra close right now.......

NOT A STUPID QUESTION DANNY. I ASSUMED HE HAD BARKLEY WITH HIM WHEN HE WAS YAHOO MESSENGERING ME ON THURSDAY AND TALKING ABOUT BEING AT NEWCOMBES RANCH. THAT NIGHT I WAS TELLING CARROL THAT HE AND BARKLEY WERE UP IN LA CRESCENTA RUNNING THE CURVES. IT WASNT UNTIL NANCY CONTACTED ME FRIDAY MORNING TO SAY HE WAS MISSING AND BARKLEY WAS OUTSIDE THAT ALL THE DOTS STARTED COMING TOGETHER. BARKLEY IS WITH HIS DOGSITTER WHO IS A PERSONAL FRIEND OF BILL'S FOR OVER 30 YEARS. ITS UP TO BILLS SON AS TO WHO GETS BARKLEY BUT HE HAS A WELCOME HOME WITH AT LEAST 4 FAMILIES.
