Ok guys.... What's the best jack to carry around to change a flat tire? Safety and speedster compatibility are the prereqs.

Guys have said in the past that a scissor jack from a Ford minivan (what was before the Windstar?) is great because it uses a 19mm socket.
Aerostar?
Aerostar was it..... I've seen suitable jacks at AutoZone and Pep Boys if you don't have time to scrounge around....
I find the sissor jacks to be far superior to the "bottle" jacks. Easy to find on the internet using Google.
And even easier to find at any auto parts store for $25.
I have gone to the auto salvage yard and pick them up dirt cheap. Most are new and unused. I like the scissor jacks as well as they are stone reliable and fold down to a very compact size.

This will work for a quick tire change. And only $17.99
IIrc, a few people have the Aerostar jack in their trunks. It's popular because the wheel wrench fits it...Al
Don't know about the Aerostar jack, but I got mine from a Ford Windstar.
Better construction than the Harbor Freight version, and the jack handle has that 19mm socket built in.
Something like $5 bucks.

Exactly! I think mine is a Subaru(scissor jack), comes with a round steel stock handle with a hook on the jack end. Just about free at a wrecking yard......
Maybe it was the Windstar. Thanks Gordon.
Maybe it was the "Breaking Wind-star"?
It's funny, SUVs and minivans cause a lot of buffeting when I'm behind them in the Spyder, top down. Passenger cars and semis seem to not bother me at all.
I've got my AAA card and fix-a-flat
Yup. Radiator and AC prevent any room in the front for a spare. AAA and fix a flat.
I used a Porsche 928 jack. It is compact and lightweight (aluminum) and fits in my Carlisle tool bag. I put some aluminum plates on the bottom of the car with holes in the middle for the bump on the jack to fit into.

I've got AAA and a a can of fix a flat, but I like having something just in case. I live dangerously close to a large cell phone desert.
I appreciate the advice and already have a lead on a good cheap scissor lifter from a Ford mommy van.
Glad I get to pass up on this authentic death trap....
