Jack test

2000 Vintage Speedster. Poked my head under car to look where I would put a jack or when I take it to a shop to have work done where they would put the lift under the car. Can not see anything under there that looks like an area they would put a lift or a jack...specifically up front.

Anyone have pics of their VS underneath and where the jack or lift is suppsed to sit??

I know VS are supposed to pass the "jack test" but not sure yet how!!!

"Passes jack test" just means there is a reinforced perimeter frame (or chassis isn't rusted out!). CMC has massive perimeter frame - see build manual in library.

i lift from the front on the beam.

on the back, the outer torsion housing lip, or the engine (via a block of wood to not mar the case)

passes the jack test mean that the car doesnt warp (ie: doors open and close no prob) when jacked on one corner.

as wolfgang says, most of these have a huge perimeter frame

I lift the back just in front of where the frame forks around the transmission. I use a piece of 2x4 on the jack as wide as the outside of the forks and position it between the fork start and the tunnel drain hole.

I lift the front immediately behind the beam. I put a hockey puck on the jack.
