Ok this may be a dumb question but...how the heck to you get a jack under the frontend? My car sits low in the front, low enough that I can not get a lo-profile aluminum racing jack under it to get to the front beam to raise it. I've had to use a piece of 1 1/2 x 8 inch piece of oak under the well in the trunk with two small bottle jacks that just barely fit with the oak piece just to raise it up enough to get the racing jack under it so I can jack it up high enough to put jackstands under it.

Is this a 'welcome to Speedster ownership' thing?

+1

Make sure you two step the 2X12(or 6 whatever you choose) wood ramp so the front lip of the body is on the board before you roll up on the second board or it'll contact that.  I'm not sure how low your car is.

Pretty much!

You might find your car ramps too steep; I know with my lowered bug I built ramps out of nailed together 2x8's, and just made the slope gentler to clear the body work.

Yes, but still can not get it high enough for the jack to go under the nose from any angle. I resorted to using the 2x oak piece with two small bottle jacks to lift it up enough to get the racing jack under the beam then lift it up to place it on jackstands.

I'm replacing all the brake pads and installing new shocks. I'm sure I'll figure something out that'll make it easier, mean time that works for now.
