If there's no one near you, I'm only a few hours up I-95 in Charleston. Come to think of it, Charleston could be a cool gathering place for the folks in the FL, GA, SC, NC, east TN areas. Hmmm...
Hello TDR......I'm down in the Ft. Lauderdale area. If all goes well I should get my car from Special Edition (Beck) by early May. Was thinking of taking delivery at Carlisle and drive back down but have been advised I should get the car sorted near to home first. I'm looking forward to a lot of road trips (mostly in South Florida). I would be game for any Florida events or group drives.
Lane/TDR/Jim.....a cruise through the Florida Keys will be magic in a speedster parade
We'll be doing the Keys again this year. Pick up the Bride at the Daytona airport, two nights in Cocoa Beach, four in Key West with a couple of stops in the Keys, one night in Cocoa to recover, then up to Brunswick, NC, up to and thru part of the Blue Ridge Parkway onto 81N somewhere and then on to Carlisle.
That loop is a lot of fun. Did it several times in January 2011. That Beach Bar called High Tides in Flagler Beach is a favourite stop. Another real nice cruise is from the Flagler area up the Beach highway to Senic St. Augustine. Stop at the Oasis Beach Bar for sure.
here's wishing I had my car ready to join
Dave Stroud: please email me at speedstahguy at gmail.com and let me know when you'll be down there. My in-laws live in Flagler Beach, not far from that funky fish restaurant on A1A and we'll be visiting them during January (and watching the start if the Rolex) and again, later in the winter. They're becoming "car people" thanks to me so maybe we could all hook up.
In fact, any of you "Floridians" (native or visiting) that can make the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, we'll be in the TRG garage (usually around bay 32) on Jan. 26'th, just hanging out, but we'll be bugging out that night for elsewhere this year and not spotting.
May I suggest that everyone simply add their location and car type to their name as I and several others have done. Easy peasy and adds so much value to the SOC site.

Good idea. Done!
I think Gordon was the first to add his location and car type under his name. No reason everyone shouldn't follow suit! Helpful info.
Great idea guys, this helped me out quite a bit in May when I picked up my Beck. Always good to see the builder and location of who you're talking to.
Fort Walton Beach Fl here (retired last year and left snowy Northern VA - Metro DC).
I tried to put in my locale but not enough space in the name frame but now maybe it will work. My name and locale was supposed to be at the bottom of the message too but that doesn't seem to show up either. Maybe now it will. Nope....not in the message part. Happy New Year to y'all...........

Another thing that would be handy is a registry of members that would offer to help those on a road trip should something bugger up along the way. All we'd need is a City name and a phone number. I could have used that feature last year when I bumped my rad mount in Fredricksburg, Maryland while heading South last year.
David---you are so right! Back when I was doing a lot of miles om a BMW R-80, our BMW club put out a small book, "BMW Anonymous" that had a section for every state with cities showing members who would offer various types of assistance; place to sleep, mechanical help, tools to loan, place to work, etc. I never had to resort to it but I carried it on every trip.
I see you added your city to your picture---nice. I hope everyone will add their car make and city plus put their email adr in their profile like; hsbroker AT aol dot com
to prevent harvesting of email addresses.
