So after the members thread i started, thought i would throw out this thread and see where all the Florida people are???  I have noticed a couple.  I am in Jacksonville...anyone in Florida out there??  Would be cool to have a day or two in Florida to gather?  Is this something that is done on a yearly basis??

Hello TDR......I'm down in the Ft. Lauderdale area.  If all goes well I should get my car from Special Edition (Beck) by early May.  Was thinking of taking delivery at Carlisle and drive back down but have been advised I should get the car sorted near to home first.  I'm looking forward to a lot of road trips (mostly in South Florida). I would be game for any Florida events or group drives.

Stophunter...i should be taking delivery of my second speedy in the next month... first speedy was not sorted...spent a ton of time and money fixing it for the next guy so i would agree make sure it is sorted! My new one should come ready to go! I am up for a meet in Florida for sure so looking forward to doing something! Beach cruising would be really cool! Lane - that would be a fantatic South SOC meeting place...what a great area of the country to see!

Dave Stroud: please email me at speedstahguy at gmail.com and let me know when you'll be down there.  My in-laws live in Flagler Beach, not far from that funky fish restaurant on A1A and we'll be visiting them during January (and watching the start if the Rolex) and again, later in the winter.  They're becoming "car people" thanks to me so maybe we could all hook up.

In fact, any of you "Floridians" (native or visiting) that can make the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, we'll be in the TRG garage (usually around bay 32) on Jan. 26'th, just hanging out, but we'll be bugging out that night for elsewhere this year and not spotting.

I have already modified my "screen name" to display Sarasota, FL

My VS wide body should be completed by me and my trusty 13 year old assistant early in 2013.  Engine, wiring and plumbing are installed, but I paused in order to do our standard ski out west.  Looking forwardto getting back to balmier weather and to complete the 356.

May I suggest that everyone simply add their location and car type to their name as I and several others have done. Easy peasy and adds so much value to the SOC site.

DO IT NOW!!

David---you are so right!  Back when I was doing a lot of miles om a BMW R-80, our BMW club put out a small book, "BMW Anonymous" that had a section for every state with cities showing members who would offer various types of assistance; place to sleep, mechanical help, tools to loan, place to work, etc. I never had to resort to it but I carried it on every trip.

I see you added your city to your picture---nice.  I hope everyone will add their car make and city plus put their email adr in their profile like;  hsbroker AT aol dot com

to prevent harvesting of email addresses.
