Jamar !  Now that's a blast from the past !  Jan and Marvin Shaw started Jamar in their garage in La Mirada Calif. back in the late half of the 60's. I used to hang out with them back then when we all had VW dune buggies and rock bashers. We spent a lot of time at the Glamis Sand dunes, Beaumont Nv. dunes, Pismo Beach dunes and illegally in the BLM area of the Chocolate mountains East of the Salton sea. A lot of camping in 100f plus weather and gallons of Coors barley pop ! I think the first thing Marvin came up with was a hydraulic park-lock, then a single handle, dual piston steering brake and one of the first parrallelagram levered, cable operated transaxle shifter mechanisms. I think Jan and Marvin split up later because she smoked a lot and he hated smoking. After that I got interested in other things and faded out of the off-road scene. I know he sold the company later and last I heard they were still making things

Those were fun times ! The total cost for a weekend of camping and riding around off-road back then was $30.00 ! ......Imagine that !....................Bruce
