It appears there's a James Dean Festival at the James Dean Museum in his home town of Fairmount, IN at the end of every September.

That might be a fun event for some of in this area.  They won't post exact timing until 2 months out, but I thought I would get the idea floated.

Just as an 'aside' on James Dean:

"A short life tragically extinguished. With Dean in control of its direction and its

 destiny"

This is the romantic explanation of his accident. He was behind the wheel of the Spyder, in control of the moment, and responsible for that accident...Wrong.

Eye witness accounts (two guys in a pickup) saw the collision with the '49 Ford. The passenger who died was wearing a white t-shirt. The driver was wearing a dark shirt. A photo taken of Dean filling up at a gas station, just prior to the accident, has him in a white t-shirt....His mechanic in a dark shirt.

These pickup guys ran to assist. They reported that the dark shirted driver (who survived) was moaning "How's Jimmy?" Media reporters quickly ignored  statements taken at the scene as unreliable in that the witnesses were "unskilled observers"...duh
