Recently purchased my 2011 Beck Speedster with Jake Raby Type 4 2270cc engine and would like some suggestions as to the jetting. Car was in Oklahoma and an email to Jake says the jetting would probably not even be close due to the California fuel and the additives my fine state puts in the gasoline.

Currently car is set up with:

EMPI HPMX - 44mm

Venturi size - 34mm

Main Jet size - 150

Idle Jet size - 55

Air Correctors - 200

Emulsion - F11

Just thought I would see what everyone thinks might work better, or before I take it in to the shop to have someone else do it

Thanks!

Thanks Terry!

Car runs strong, great throttle response (via SyncLink  - glad you like yours).

2 things - Car starts without issue and once warm will idle around 1,000 rpm. After driving car and coming to stop light, car idle will stay at 1,600 to 1,700 rpm. And once car has been driven, if it sits for a short amount of time (15 to 30 min), upon restart the car seems to cough & pop some until you start down the road then it seems to settle down again. No heat issues either - car runs very cool. Thoughts?

Dan, I'm glad you got some responses to your question regarding proper jetting.  As mentioned above by , I'd suggest you buy (4) 57 or 58 idle jets and some 155 main jets and try them.  If the engine  stumbles  a bit under 3,000 RPM's, then return to your original 55's.    If the engine stumbles when accelerating above 3,400 then return to your original main jets.

If as you explained, the idle is high after driving the car, get out of your car with the idle 'high' and check to see if there is any binding in the throttle mechanism.   You can grab one or both of the pulleys and twist them to the closed position.  If they move then you have binding.   If not then it's something else.
