It was a wet weekend so the cars stayed indoors. I wanted to make a new tonneau for the car for a long time since the original was a long one that when I got the car could go all the way to the front and snap along the dash. When we rebuilt the car I took the snaps off so it was a long tonneau that just draped into the back seats. It was Vinyl and was starting to look it's 20+ year age.
I had previously bought the short one from Vintage but don't like the way it exposes the rear seats (where I put stuff, like beer)
So we bought a thick cotton from a fabric shop and make a paper form to measure around the roll bars. Cut it out and started the sewing. (I was the supervisor) Josee had a great idea to cut the old one and sew the new fabric over the top. This way it is thicker and the new cover, covers the snaps. Looks awesome.
We also sewed a seam at the front to droop onto the seats so I can still hide stuff on the rear seat.
