JPS Brakes???? Help!!

I have a 2002, 4 lug, speedster, that needs new brake pad. Does any body know what type to use.

Of course that depends on the calipers; I suggest you take a set off and take it to your favorite VW shop; it should be fairly easy to find the correct replacements.

As stated, the caliper could contain a variety of pads however, in most instances, 4 lug disc brakes are similar if not the same as Karmen Ghia

I doubt there is a readily available VW shop in this guy's area, or he'd go there. JPS used the EMPI disc brake kit in 2002 (I had one). I'd buy a hot VW magazine, call one of the multi-page ad people, and tell 'em what you've got. It'll be cheap and fast. I'd buy a couple sets.

Be careful if you're running VW calipers. These are sourced from the Karmann Ghia and Type III and use two or three different shaped pads, with different ways of pinning them in. Along with different calipers for different years and models.

Call Karmann Ghia Parts and Restoration, describe the shape of the pad, the kind of pin used and the name and part number of the caliper. The calipers are going to be manufactured either by Girling or ATE.

And remember that the pads are now made "off shore" and will need to be dressed with a grinder in order to fit the caliper and operate correctly, smoothly, and without hanging up on release.
