JPS Coupe Update?

Looks like there haven't been any new photos added to the JPS Coupe site in a few months. Does anyone have any fresh news or photos on the project? I think someone here said they were in line for the first car; how is it coming along?

Spoke with John a 4-6 weeks ago. The first one is being sold to a customer from Virginia, that coupe will be at Carlisle '07

I thought I was getting #1, however after talking with JPS I discovered a fellow in Va. is getting the #1 car..ok by me.
I've already sent in the down pmt so the deal is done.

Does anyone have any recent info on the JPS Coupe? These cold weather months make me think about owning a coupe for the top-up season and those rainy days. Would like to know if there is any fresh info. I think one of each would look soooo cool in my garage! Any reports from the first few owners? Do they have them yet? Happy? Feedback please.

I spent my Saturday with John at is shop. He has new molds of the coup and he will be getting them in the next week or so. The quality of the body is awesome and to see John talk about it is fun. U should call him, orders are coming in and Im even thinking about getting one

I just want to say that this is a great looking project. I'd sure like to get one someday. I'll be watching for more updates.

Is delivery nearing for the new lucky owners? And if so, will they post a full complement of photos for us to appreciate?

I think he's still working on the first prototype with the new body. Deliveries are probably a while away, but I sure hope he has one at Carlisle.

I believe John Steele (JPS) hopes to have Coupe #1 finished in time for Knotts in April and a trip up to Paso Robles on that same April weekend. So, those at Paso should get a chance to inspect it firsthand.

Coupe #1 is being built for a customer back East, who will take delivery at Carlisle, which means all those attending there will see it, too.
All in all, pretty good timing for the first car...kind of like a national tour.

I visited JPS last week and checked out the first body from the new molds. It looks really good(!) - smooth finish, tight and even gaps, and the past imperfections of the old Speedster molds VS & JPS have been replicating for years are gone.

I'm betting the "Couplica" will be a nice addition to the replica hobby.

I really hope that he has one at Carlisle. I can not believe how good it looks in the pics. If I would have known the body mold would be this good I would have ordered one a while, ago and stalled the restoration of my 57 coupe.

I am "next door" in Easton and my Coupe replica is supposed to be delivered at the Carlisle event along with the silver one in the pictures. BOTH are scheduled to be at the show. The silver car is going to a buyer from Virginia (I think).

Yes I am in Allentown. That is great I would love to meet you at Carlisle. Would love to see the coupe finished. We could take a cruise together when my 57 coupe is finished being restored. What are the exact dates of Carlisle? My wife and I plan on attending the Porsche swap meet in Hershey this weekend.Are you going?

Check the "Greene Coupe is Born" thread for the bad news. NO greene Coupe at Carlisle. Means I have to wait a few extra weeks. Carlisle is the 18-20 of May. I think the silver one is still going to be there.

Wish I could get to the swap meet. Was hoping to, but as of today it doesn't look too good.

John Steele just informed me he is now doing the rear pop-uot windows on the Coupe. I think someone (Jason) was asking that earlier in this thread.

I am sorry to hear that. But it will be worth it in the end. I am glad that atleast one of the coupes will be there to see. The pics look amazing. I tired to post a picture of a green coupe for you on that thread. However, it did not turn out correctly. Computers are not my thing.

It is never too early to wish for a Suby version. :) The SAW/SAS site does mention coupes, although to my knowledge none have been built. Since the car is mid engined,access to the engine bay would be problematic... it may involve dropping the engine per a conversation I had with Steve at SAW.

But yes, would make a beautiful daily driver, wouldn't it? Esp with modern heat and A/C.

It would make a life-long all-arounder! I'll settle for heat. This depends on how thin your blood is... I never have a problem cooling down. Global warming can't come too soon.

John drove the silver coupe to Knott's last weekend. Car looks very nice. The inside is to die for. Lot's of room, excellent finish, and even a glovebox. I urged him to develop a sunroof. I think his plate is pretty full right now. He confirmed, no green coupe for Carlisle.

Does anyone have any photos or video of the silver coupe at Carlisle?

Carlisle's still a couple of weeks off. I'm sure there will be plenty of pics.
