I continue to be amazed at the lack of support for someone so mistreated. Maybe I am an idiot, but . . . IF you only new the blow by blow details . . . I hope you never have to experience what I have lived through with this car. If you ever do - know I will support you.

Warren,
I wanted nothing more than for this dream car to be a reasonable car I could keep forever. All I ever wanted was for it to work and to get help and direction to make it so. You and I have never met and you have no idea of the ordeal I have been through with JPS. I tried and tried to get some semblance of support quietly for almost a year - with little result. The final straw - that pushed me to lash out publicly - was being intentionally ditched at Carlisle by John P. Steele. He promised me he would look at the car many times and failed to show up - not once - but twice. Ask the others that witnessed it.

Now I face the real possibility of my 42 year old - second generation business - a business that has weathered several previous oil- induced major recessions - fail. For you to insinuate I had this planned all along - well - you don't know me at all.

Why is it you and others feel so protective of JPS. If only one tenth of what I endured is his normal business practice, he should be facing a worse fate than I am. I have received many private emails warning me not to send the car back, telling me of similar experiences, and applauding me for speaking out. SO I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

ALL this could have been avoided if JPS had done half of what it promised to do. Heck, maybe 10%!

It is absolutely killing me to sell, but keeping my business alive and my house in my own hands comes first. In the end this is still just a toy I can't afford in my present situation.

I plan to get it fixed and then sell. Low price is only here on this site and will go no further unless I get totally desperate. In the meantime I thank all those helping for being such great friends.

As for damaging value of JPS cars - it seems only the value of new ones are damaged. A well sorted JPS is as fine a car as any other. So unless your car still has defects - the value should be just fine. In fact I would PREFER a used one - with the bugs worked out over ever having to deal with JPS.

Can we please get back to fixing and/or selling the car. I'm tired of getting a black eye every time I post something. My situation sucks. If you want to kick me for being in it - - I don't need to come here for that. I do plenty of it myself and there is always someone willing to tell me how stupid I am for being in the RV business anyway. So please.

Make me an offer, or leave it alone. Enough already.

You're right Tom. You certainly don't need me or anyone else telling you what to do or criticizing what you did. My last post was meant to be positive, but with the comments from others, I apparently failed. Sorry you have been through so much crap with the car, the business and whatever other personal stuff has been going on. Good luck with getting it all straightened out. Also, hang in there in the RV business. It will be back. There are too many baby-boomers out there that want to go RVing. Have you been to an nice hotel lately? Lots of cash. I hope I am right on this one for your sake. There I go again, being a know-it-all. Just trying to say something optimistic for a change. In all sincerity Tom, I hope things work out for you.
Tom---me too---you have to just do what you feel is best gfor your own situation. You have the same support here no matter what direction you go with the car.

Your point babout a sorted car regardless of the maker or what problems were fixed was the first time I've heard that exact concept---and you are so right.

Funny--from time to time I think about getting another Speedster but tyen I think of all the many things I've done to get my car perfect (well, close) and then think what the hell---a new one would never be as complete and as good and as reliable as what I have now. Thanks for making me realize that!

Take care---you have a LOT of friends here!!-Jack
Well Jim, it's like this....
Gerd was doing some trash talking to Esther you know, trying to get the Cuban fired up...She was mixing him some drinks, and spewing some spanish jibberish...So far that's all we got. I know both of them can do better than that, so here we sit, by the way can you pour me another single malt....
meanwhile, I'm on another thread trying to make a deal with Bruce Chow to trade me his wide body with the stout rear end for my Ghia...
